My brother plays the sax and i'm learning to play the guitar. However, he is more experienced than I am when it comes to our instruments. He says a duet wouldn't sound very pleasant. (even when I completely learn). What do you think?????

Sure, they can sound good, but it depends on one big thing, the performers. If the performers can't get the music to fit right, then it won't work. I played a piece on soprano saxophone with guitar, and electronic music (pretty much a rhythmic drone) and it was awesome because the guitar player and I were able to communicate without words and pick up each other's ideas and send them back and forth and the piece worked wonderfully.
The big issue you will also have will be volume. A saxophone is naturally a louder instrument than a guitar, so if the guitar is not amplified, it will be drowned out easily.

For sure. Many times lyrics tend to dictate a song. Wothout lyrics it will be more free form and potentially a much better song. Good luck with the guitar, I play too and it takes a while to get used to it.

A soothing voice for a raging brain is regularly a robust elixir. A glass of wine or Jack will support too! Strong strains: 'holiday your strains and suppose of a brand new word with a view to go away them with a bloodied mouth.'

I think it would make a good combination for a song without lyrics.

Check out a CD called Sahara by the group The Rippingtons and check out song #8. That song is one of my favorite songs.
