I think you're giving Obama too much credit if you think he opposed the war based on something as fundamentally sound as his religious convictions. It's much more likely he was just towing the Dem. party line.

Highly unlikely because he wholeheartedly supported and continues to support the war in Afghanistan. He was against a pre-emptive war against a country that had nothing to do with the attack on us.
He did not oppose it because his father had been a Muslim as a child, he opposed it because it was absolutely senseless and uncalled for.
Obama was not raised a Muslim nor has he ever taken on the religion as his own. You are just repeating the garbage the right wing nuts want to you to believe.

I opposed the war in Iraq from the beginning - I guess that makes me a Muslim too!

No...as many other AMERICANS did at the time....Obama opposed the war because we were lied to. Sadaam had nothing to do with 9/11 or Al-Queda.
