I'm sure it was more a knee-jerk partisan thing. Though, he may have been thinking ahead: if the war went badly (as it did) opposing it would serve him well, if it went well, he'd still be early enough in his career to recover from it. A calculated risk by an ambitious young politician.

No. Also he didn't decide to be muslim, one of his parents were and so that was part of his upbringing. He did decide to be Christian.

Also to the person who said it's just becase the war is unpopular so he's against it: A simple search on youtube.com will show you video evidence that he has always opposed the war.

Also those of you attacking Muslims on here: there are Muslims who are Americans. Are they traitors or sympathize with their "jihad cousin" as one put it, just because they're Muslims? Aren't they considered Americans?

You're an idiot.

He was 6 years old.

Could you fight off daddy when he was touching you at 6?

He opposes the war for the same reasons the rest of us do: Lies about WMD's, lies about the state of Iraq, embezzling of money by Bushy and his cronies, and the complete lack of ANY sort of plan to see it through.

Did I mention you're an idiot?

In case I didn't, you're an idiot.

To the other poster making his anus talk, go look up the speech he gave 6 months before the invasion. You dipshits lack so much information but it doesn't stop you from rectally speaking. STFU if you're not going to become informed about anything you comment on.

I love how the Repukes lie about how Obama once supported the war...

It's a known, accepted fact : Obama has always been anti Iraq war. Always.

The reason, is because he recognized it as the pathetic crock of s_it that it is, and he had the guts to vote that way.

No, strangely, unlike most of his fellow christ-following, peace-loving Christians in this country, he opposed the war.

Talk about race baiters. This sounds like something similar. If you really want an answer to a stupid question like this why not write Senator Obama and ask him?
