I think that Bush should because it's obvious that they are the cause behind the fact that the USA is having so much trouble in Iraq. It seems everytime there is a suicide bombing the libs cheer, and it is protected by the first Amendment. Should we not allow these protests due to the fact that we need to win this war?

it came to this war & the results are showing.
The mere fact that he's looking for a 'war czar' to take
the blame, is evidence enough.

No, suspending Habeus Corpus would be far beyond the pale. (though, in a sense, it wouldn't be that different from what's been going on with 'illegal combatants')
You may be thinking of invoking some sort of Sedition law - I can't recall if there's still one on the books so don't know how hard that would be to do. Most likely, Congress would have to pass one, and that boat has obviously already sunk in the harbor, with the Democratic victory in the last election.

Well, how do you define "winning the war"? We are at war to protect our freedoms and ways of life against those that would impose their ways of life on us. There is a lack of freedom and rights in the countries who we are fighting, and they (allegedly) want the world to be like they are. What you are proposing is handing a victory on a silver platter over to those who we are fighting. And that's sad that you would want that.
Government stepping in and interfering with peoples lives(suspending Habeus Corpus), that's not very conservative at all.

for the period of circumstances of conflict, Bush declared victory in Iraq and claimed the 'conflict' to be over till now. Prisoners are regularly launched after wartime. and that's a diverse variety of prisoner, you won't be able to droop Haebius Corpus like he did.
