I feel like the media is shoving him in my face every five seconds. You can guarantee that if they mention the NHL they will mention Crosby even if he has nothing to do with it. He overshadows other players on his team (and in the league) that deserve a whole lot more credit. I'm tired of hearing that Sidney Crosby single-handedly saved the entire NHL, because even though it is true that all the media attention on him is good exposure because it gets hockey news out in there again the NHL is nowhere close to being "saved." I also can't stand how they are constantly saying he is the next Wayne Gretzky. He is an absolutely amazing player, but he has only shown the potential to win multiple awards and cups like Gretzky. Right now in his young career he is not even close to Gretzky, maybe one day but not now.
I do not blame Crosby at all I like him as a player and a person, and a part of me even believes that he doesn't even want all of this attention. It's a lot of pressure on such a young man and everyone is watching and criticizing his every move. It's a lot on his shoulders. I wish the media would lay off a little and just let him play hockey.

crosby is a good player and i don't think it is necessarily him that is stealing the show, the news media builds him up like there are no other players in the nhl and the nhl would be lost without him. i really don't think any one should blame crosby for it.he is young and sure it is an ego builder but he is not responsible for all the hype the media puts around him.i am not a pens fan at all,but in his defense i had to respond.

he is a very good team player. just yesterday he said that if people are thinking that he can beat a team all by himself they are wrong because its a team game. so no, Sidney Crosby is not stealing the show in the NHL

He was given the show in the regular season, but all he stole in game ! was a paycheck. Sydney the sweetheart, had a long way to go, before he is considered elite. Do it in the playoffs, win a cup, then you can get all the pats on the back that you deserve.

What? Wait a minute...the NHL drafts it's top players based on his ego and camera time probability and NOT his skill and talent? Wow, I've had it wrong all these years...
How can you fault a person for working hard and being good at what he does?
I was recently chosen as "Teacher of the Month"...so I'm stealing the show too...sweet...
Let's Go Pens!!!

As stated above, it's not really that HE'S stealing it, it is that the media and the fans are giving it away to him. I wish everyone would get over it already. It's not like Lecavalier, Iginla, Thornton, Heatley, etc, were 50 points behind. There ARE 29 other teams in the NHL and there ARE 15 other teams playing for the cup.

You can't blame him for doing his job and being good at it? It's the media that makes all the fuss. And why is it bad? Gretzky and Mario had a lot of media attention and it was good for hockey in general. How can it be bad? I don't like Pittsburgh and personally could care less about Crosby, but I can't deny his talent.

He's a good player, points and assists show that. I think he is great, but over hyped...kinda like how Jagr was when he first came into the league. He is stealing the show with his play which is fine, but I just think the hype around him is too ridiculously high.

he is great. but all we hear anymore is crosby this crosby that. the nhl needs to get over it. i mean the pens lost to the sens. no one is talking about alfredsson or spezze or heatly. a couple are talking about lacavalier. but seriously. there are other players in the nhl who deserve attention to.
so yes, he is stealing the show. and once the sens sweep gis team, everyone will shut up about it
