I.E. Michael Richards, Mel Gibson, etc.
I feel no matter what your race or religion, racial slurrs are racial slurrs. Don Imus was very wrong in his comments, but to fire the guy when others walk around in everyday society saying the same things if not worse? What is wrong with this country?

Here's another hypocritical example: Howard Stern. He does the unthinkable EVERY DAY on his show and no one is seeking him to step down. Has anyone seen the pornographic nature of one of the sites about him? He has also been accused of making racist comments, but yet HE still has HIS job. Now they are saying that the Imus Ranch may suffer due to him being fired.

Because the real racist Al sharpton wants to notch another win under his belt, he doesent care about anyone but himself, he hates white people, and he uses the black people for his own agenda, I feel sorry for all the races, black and white, that this man even has a voice in the public eye!!!!!

The only example that is set is that if you are white, watch what you say very very carefully. Especially against blacks even if it is a bad joke. BUT if you are black or anything else its fair game. UNLESS you are another minority who says something about a black person.
DOUBLE STANDARD BULL
If they want to make an example start at home. Start with the rappers and your own culture. Im not defending Imus but he shouldve of lost his job. Sharpton should not have a voice in anything cuz he is a hipocritical racist. And the media sure plays sides when they choose to. Imus was wrong but there is a severe double standard in our society and its pathetic. Why is Rosie still on the air? Oh because she didnt talk about black people. Only bashes our pres, is anti-America, bashes Chrisitians, etc. This country really makes me sick sometimes. We are going in the wrong direction.

The radio station is discriminating against Imus because of his skin color. If a black radio personality said that same thing no one would bat an eye. Two people can say the same thing; one's black and one's white. White person gets fired. We need a N.A.A.W.P. just kiddin', but seriously this whole situation is absurd. Everything offends someone, where will it end?

All this did was put a stranglehold on everyone else and their jobs. What radio was, is and will be is another story. Additionally, if this happened to someone this big imagine it can happen to everyone in the business.
this was a horrible example and shows who the real biggots, segregators and racists really are.

Because CBS has a lot of outraged companies that buy commercials from them.

Has nothing to do with Imus, nothing to do with racism, everything to do with advertising dollars.
