Does anyone here have neighbors that give A LOT for holidays/birthdays? Like for Easter when you bake them cookies, they bring over filled baskets with candy and toys and all that, and even one for the dog??? Or just randomly give you cupcakes on a random day??

Yes, I have a neighbor like that. She is from Japan. I just assumed it was a japanese thing. I have tried to give her stuff as often as I can. She doesn't bake, so I have my son bring her fresh cookies about once a month, and I invite her daughter to the egg hunt we have for our kids and nephews. Stuff like that.

Not anymore, but I have in the past. It's hard to deal with, especially if you can't afford that kind of generosity. I always felt like I cheated them somehow.

My boss is like that at Christmas, too; the whole shop buys her 1 gift (and not a huge one, at that) and she buys EVERYONE two or three very nice things. I got a Seiko watch, a $75 bottle of perfume, and a plate that I didn't realize until just last week, was a one of a kind, artists' original! Arrrgh.

My neighbor only gives me a headache. He is always out in his yard and the minute I get home and need to get in the house, he has to wander over and chit chat. Sometimes I just simply have to be rude to him. Gotta go to the potty!

Haha I used to.
And they used to celebrate their dogs birthdays....
It was really wierd...
And my other neighbors would bring over expensive, nice gifts and stuff, (including the dog, they gave him mittens) and we'd just give them a card and a gift card lol.
It really makes my parents guilty but not me.
:D
Not my problem.

And they're really old.. and they smell like soap.. and have like 200 cans of peaches in thier basements!!

My sister has neighbors like that. They're an elderly couple and they're always really nice. My sister shows appreciation by returning the favor, now they're very good friends.
