It's for an scholarship contest and I have to write about my experience as a teen girl. I had a very tramatic experience by being raped and I'm not sure if I should write about and I really don't want to share it. The contest said I could right abotu anything but I can't think of any good or positive experiences I've had. What should I do?

You should only write about that when you are ready. It is good that you can mention it here, but in order to write about it, you may have to process and re-process some very difficult images and feelings. If you don't want to share that kind of intimate detail than you certainly shouldn't.

Consider writing about fear or pain and how you have overcome it. Write about how it has made you stronger, about how it has shown you that you can overcome even terrible things in life. Share how your experiences may have helped you learn about yourself, about what is important to you, and maybe even about how you want to live your life.

Best wishes and good luck.
