Think of a row of quintuplets holding hands. They all look exactly the same, and when you connect them you have a chain of repeating identical "units," just like in a polymer.

Take Building Blocks for example...
Say One bulding block is called a monomer..
And Connect 5-10 of the "monomers" building blocks into a large building block which will be knows as a polymer.
Thats basically the essential definition.

"Plastic" would be a basic word that a child would understand, but polymer means "many parts" and occurs naturally as well as being created artificially
