1. Yes a woman can get TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome) such as if she's wearing a tampon that is stronger than is designed for her period flow, but it doesn't happen as often as it used to about 20 some years ago.
2. Yes, sometimes an adult (usually your mom) can tell when the young girl is going to start her period. One way is by noticing the kind of mood she's in. My mom could tell when I would be moody. Also, at one point she would sometimes know that my period was starting because of that she would have a bloody nose for about a day. The first time it happened she had to ask me if my period was coming because she wasn't sure and the answer was yes. So we knew then that sometimes she would be able to tell.
3. As for changing tampons in school, no because you just go in to the bathroom and then take out the old one and insert the new one. Should only take a few minutes.
4. It is a good idea to let your dr know what kind of menstrual protection you are using such as with a tampon in case trouble starts such as having a tampon getting stuck inside of the vagina (this does happen a lot so drs see this often). Yes, it's ok to ask them how to use it if you would like to do that.
5. For your height the 100 lbs could be a good weight but the only way to confirm that is to have your dr look in to this.
Pls also discuss your concerns with your mom and dr (at your next check up unless something is wrong then you need to go in sooner).

1. TSS is extremely rare, yet extremely severe, you can catch TSS by leaving a tampon in for more than 8 hours.
2. Only if you tell them! Teachers may have an inkling, if they hear you rustle the wrappers in the loo or something like that.
3. I think it's easier than pads because with pads you try and do it really slowly so that no one can hear the wrapper, but with a tampon it is much quieter. Just relax because if you are stressed or tense, the vaginal wall muscles kind of clench and so it is painful to insert the tampon. I find leaning back against the wall behind me and playing my favourite song in my head helps. Just practice changing at home and it will become easier.
4. No, only if you think it is necessary. My doctor doesn't know.
5. Your bmi is 17.7 and the specified bmi is betwenn 18.5 and 24.9, so I don't think you should lose any weight. A good way to be healthy is to make sure you have a balanced diet.
I'm 13 too and I will be 14 at the end of October 2007 and I've had my period since November last year ((2006)). Hope this helps xXx

1. Toxic Shock Syndrome is caused by leaving a tampon in for too long. I don't know how common it is though.
2. I don't think adults can "sense" when you're on your period unless you're moodier. I know some girls break out worse right before they get their period.
3. Changing your tampon in school is like changing your tampon anywhere else. Just ask to go to the restroom.
4. I've never had a doctor (that I can remember) ask me whether or not I'm using a tampon. If they ask, it's no harm in saying so. If you know how to use them, why would you ask them how to use one?
5. According to any BMI (Body Mass Index) calculator, you are actually underweight. DON'T LOSE WEIGHT... It might be detrimental to your health. If you want to look thinner, work out, but eat right too. Don't fast! There are ways to tone down. You most likely are thin enough though, if you wear a size 0.

1. TSS is very rare and is caused by not changing your tampon enough or using to high an absorbency.
2. They may be able to tell a mood change but that's about it
3. Not at all. Pretty much the same as pads
4. It doesn't matter. If you need help ask your mom. Unless your doc. asks no need to tell him/her.
5. You are tiny for your age. No need to lose any weight. Please don't become one of these weight crazy girls who is really tiny but is insistent on losing weight no matter the consequences.
Hope this helped! Good Luck :) :)

1. playing sports and using tampons is so much easier than napkins. i would suggest it, idk how likely TSS is...but i've never heard of anyone getting it.
2. absolutely not, not unless you tell them. or unless you're a bad PMS-er...
3. if you have a lot of trouble usually you just need to relax, because its no different at home than at school.
4. i would tell your mom so she knows, so she knows why you would faint or whatever. if you don't know how to use them, a little instruction book comes iwth them, or here's a website: http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/tampon.html
5. you need to lose no weight! if you are only 100 lbs and you wear size 0, i think you're doing pretty good. keep up the sports and you'll be in good shape.
hope that helped a lot!

a million. replace it each physique to 2 days. except your rather sweaty or artwork out in it. activities bras, ought to only be worn once or twice besides. 3 days is pushing it yet 2 is superb! additionally you need to replace underwire bras each couple of months or while the twine starts poking out. OUCH! :p 2. Tampons at the instant are not frightening! Use the backside absorbency you are able to and only plastic applicators. (i exploit the tampax pearl gentle as i discover the cardboard applicators would be very painful) they're smaller and carry much less threat of TSS then the better absorbencys. additionally replace them each 4-6 hours. The container says 8, yet just to be risk-free... while wisely worn you won't be able to even sense them! 3. do no longer problem approximately sweating, this is thoroughly generic. merely bathe on a regular basis and after workout, continuously placed on clean shirts and don't practice to plenty deoderant, on account that would reason sweating besides. Use the dry stick i.e secret or dove no longer the gel. you additionally can attempt donning shirts that don't experience up on your armpits. I even have the comparable difficulty. I sweat such as you does no longer have self belief and that i only placed on shirts with baggier sleeves. they're style of demanding to discover at walmart or some thing yet Maurices has rather attractive geared up dolman sleeve shirts and that i discover that facilitates me to no longer sweat as plenty. Or atleast make it much less significant. good success :D

ok you can get TSS by not changing your tampon every few hours as its instructed. they probably can't sense it unless you don't change it and it'll smell bad, but they probably won't be able to. i don't use tampons but i doubt it'll be hard to change. you should talk to your doc bout this if you really need to know. or your mom. ok please dont lose weight i'm your height and 20 more pounds. UR PUNY GET THAT IN YOUR HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i'm 13 as well. i think u mite be in the underweight or really low on the normal scale for bmi. you really don't need to lose weight.
