Don't Do It !!!!!!!!!!!! We went to a presentation in one of our local ones It was called United Consumers Club. It was scary! They did a presentation, showed a film and pretty much harassed us before we could get out of the place! They said we wouldn't be able to join if we didn't join right then for another 7 years. We asked them to let us leave but they followed us to stop us and kept trying to convince us to join! They took us into their warehouse / stock room on our request to see the quality of the furniture. They really didn't show us much. What we did see was of hotel quality.
We have read many complaints on line about them also. They have changed their name many times! They have many class action lawsuits against them. Also, depending on where you live you could pay as much as $5,000.00 for the membership. From what we've read, once you order with them many manufacturers will charge you shipping and handling fees. Direct Buy will not handle any claims against them if there are any problems with the product! They really will not help you if the manufacturer gives you a problem.

Check out these links for more information about them.

My neighbor is a Direct Buy member. If I remember right, he said it was like 1-2K to join. He also said the only way it pays off is if you plan on making some major appliance or furniture purchases in the near future.

He just bought full living room and family room furniture set and saved thousands on it.

Good luck
