Hell yes he should. It is simple, he was treated differently by his employer because of his race, no honest person thinks that this would have happened were he black, thats a violation of every equality and civil rights statute I have ever read. And free speech doesn't completely die, only if you are of the "wrong" skin color.

Um, black people make fun of white people ALL THE TIME. Have you EVER watched a black comedian that's like 80% of their show. I thought what Imus said was outrageous and I was angry, but he apologised like a million times. That should be all that needs to be done. I mean he was talking about the whole team and I am sure there were white girls on it as well. So the remarks he made were not just because the girls were black.

Suing is not possible.
It was his own foolishness to try to apologize to people who would not accept it.
He could have sliced his own wrists and wrote it in his dying blood and that would have not been enough.
Meanwhile he is fired and across town at your local rap/urban/hip hop station the N-word is dropped as a daily habit.
