I agree that his comments were racial remarks, and he was VERY wrong. BUT, if he were a black man on a sindicated radio show, would anyone have batted an eyelash about this? If it were white women sitting on the bench and he called them a bunch of crackers or something racial about white women, would it have been discussed further? What do you think. Again, I do feel he was wrong, he is a jerk period, I never liked his show, but its ok for some people to say racial things on the air, like black rappers, but an old white guy says the same thing, or something not even as harsh as they do and the man loses his job... it is a bit crazy

I myself am not a fan of Imus but him being fired was WRONG on CBS part. If CBS would of suspended him immedatly he would still have a job on the radio. For Jesse and the Rev Sharpton ever notice they veer there ugly heads when it is a white guy saying something racial about a african american, but when the shoe is on the other foot both of them crawl under a rock and are not to be heard of, for example a couple of weeks ago in NYC a black man was caught on tape robbing and PUNCHING a 80 something yeard old woman 5 times and where were Jesse or Al.
It's ok for rappers to call women ho's and bitches and some say what i consider racial remarks i dont care what color you are if a white person cant say it why can a rapper a black rapper drop the n word to me thats being a hypercrite.
Rev Al got his name from defending a woman i say about 20 years ago Twanna Brawley in Wappingers fall NY she accused 5 white men of raping her and turns out 10 years go by and she was lying but Rev and Jesse stood by her every step of the way so Al Sharpton took the reigns of speaking up against white on black crimes.

The adult white mail is the most discriminated against person in America. There are no freebies for us. We have to work for everything we get. Think about it. No school grants for being a minority, no special programs for "diversity", hell, we aren't a minority so we should be able to survive without any help, etc...
I'm glad this time around so many people are catching on to the "what if an african american would have said this" idea. I have been saying this for years! YEARS!! You all d@mn well know nothing would have happened. That is the sick part. And the sicker part are those two bozos getting press out of this who had Imus onto the radio show to "apologize".
And the crazy thing is, if you're to ask an african american, "what if a black person would have said this? Would the reaction have been any different?" They pull the d@mn race card!! The people that do that need to grow the h3ll up.
There is racism still in America, and it comes from both sides of the spectrum, believe that.

Don Imus has been a Neanderthal jerk for years...and this isn't the first time he has gone too far. However, I say leave him on the air, not because I like him (I think Imus is repulsive), and not because I think his viewpoints are valuable (for the most part you can take his opinions and fertilize your petunias with them), but because I believe in free speech. Let him get hammered in the court of public opinion, and the verdict of whether or not Imus in the Morning vanishes be left to the sponsors, viewers, listeners ana guests making decisions whether or not they will continue to advertise on, tune into, or appear on the show.
The question I have from this whole thing is...Who the hell elected that big bag of hot air Al Sharpton to the position of Expert and Spokesman on All Things African-American?

Imus, he replaced into incorrect are not getting me incorrect, yet relatively adequate is adequate with this racism and sexism ingredient. honestly, racism to me is a double widespread. Why is it which you will call Asians Chinks and Spanish Spicks and White human beings Hicks. yet god forbid you're saying something approximately all of us else. Racist communities could additionally pass after comedy shows, ideal? there is assorted racism there, noticeably if theres a white guy or woman interior the team. Rap music, is sexist. a thoroughly diverse ingredient yet for sure to a pair, its as vast of a deal. I only think of adequate is adequate. we are in 2007 and human beings might desire to recover from racism already. Don Imus is amazingly incorrect, yet he's entitled to his own opinion. only like all people else is. i don't think of he replaced into ideal for asserting something relating to the Rutgers females noticeably because they have accomplished plenty for his or her college, team, and themselves.

I agree...on each of your points.
Not being a fan of Imus, I really don't care what he does or what happens to him.
However, he was attempting hip-hop/urban vernacular when he said what he said...and yes, if a black person said it, who would have cared?
It was stupid to say, but he made QUICK work to apologize.
I find it interesting that Al Sharpton was quick to judge the Duke University white students in the alleged rape of a black student...but have we heard even a hint of an apology for Sharpton's condemnation of those white students?
No.
And don't hold your breath that he will.

Why does everyone talk about Don Imus- sure he deserves all that's coming to him. But what about the producer, Mr. McGuirk? He called the girls "some hardcore hos..." before Imus. I say put his head on the chopping block, too.

It's a double freakin standard. Why don't Jesse and Al wake up to the fact that by injecting race into everything, they make it impossible for racism to end? All crap like this does is to alienate white people and make them more likely to crap on their cause. It's just retarded.
