I am certainly not saying what Imus said was excusable in anyway. I have just got sick and tired of taking a man and stringing him over the coals. Al Sharpton is leading the way to a modern day witch trial of Imus. I am not even an Imus fan. I am a fan of what is right and good abou America and this is not it.
Justice has not been served. What we have here, is a guy, maybe a racist guy and sexist guy, that lives in a society full of PC haters. Whom if you don't believe how they do- forget about your freedom- lets hang you out to dry and ruin your life.

I am so ashamed of Sharpton, CBS (which who waches CBS anyway) and MSNBC. All I am saying is that- Reverend Al Sharpton is reading his Bible wrong if this is what he thinks God would want him to do.We are to forgive. Love your enemies, that means love those who have offended you. that means take the high road, be a better person. Turn the other cheek.

Freedom of speech is an endangered beast anymore.

Yes, Imus is a jerk. If people don't like what he says, thy can change the channel. Period.

As for the Reverend Sharpton, he is racist himself. On The View today, they had some quotes that he made in the past that were highly derogatory to Jews. He's casting stones, when he's guilty of the same thing.

What Imus said was wrong, but he didn't deserve to lose his job over it. Since he did, they should fire the rap stars, their producers, and the record industry executives that let them spout the same crap Imus said and worse.

Being a big howard stern fan I think that Imus is kind of being crucified for saying something dumb. He should have never said that but where I honestly think he went wrong was when we kept saying that he was sorry. He should have said that his show was a funny show and he has the right to say whatever he wants. If he didnt act as if he had done something wrong then it wouldnt have come to this.

As far as Sharpton, hes a huge racist himself.. and pay your bills AL. Jeez.

But yeah anyway I think that if he would have just told everyone to F off and that he could say whatever he wanted.

Look the man made a joke that was really racist. He admitted he made a mistake but you can't comprehend where Sharpon and the black community are coming from because you are not black. If someone made a similiar 'joke' about my race I'd be pretty pissed off too. I do have a sense of humor about most things and we all make fun of each other but his joke was pretty harsh.
It's too bad, the man was using his show to raise a ton of money for a lot of worthy causes.

Yeah, they're blowing this way out of proportion. A simple firing would have sufficed. This is SERIOUSLY not the worst thing going on in the world right now. It's CERTAINLY not what we should all be focusing on. I swear, the things people spend their time and attention on baffle me. Like this woman who's trying to get the word "God" banned from radio and television. Does she not realize how much violence and nastiness is on TV and radio today? Yet she's started a whole movement to ban His name? How sad is that? If these people would focus on world hunger and peace and other issues, we might actually be making some progress. But nooo, let's focus on trivial bull crap. How sad is this world and the pathetic people in it?

I agree, what he said was not right but terms that he used are used every day by african americans about themselves... he should have been maybe suspended for a few days but what the media is doing to him now is unfair and they are all going in the opposite direction

It hit the news as he was doing a fundraiser for charity and it hit the news that he had been fired

Let's throw Imus in a pool of water and see if he floats. This is called a witch duck. Then you can have your witch trial.

Why are you reading and watching news stories? It's all sensationalized bullcrap. The ONLY reason any of this stuff makes the news is that for whatever reason... millions upon millions of people tune in every day and get hyper-interested in it.

It doesn't matter. BREAKING NEWS is the almost always equivalent to "Pick up the phone TODAY and buy [Whateverthehell]!!!".... It's useless garbage that has no relevance to our personal lives.

It's worse than a witch trial. It's people pandering for dollars.

In witch trials, if people confessed, they were 'forgiven'. Here, it doesn't matter if you express remorse and apologize, you get your head cut off anyway..

What are we teaching our kids?

This is easy for you to say b/c you're not black. Try to look at it from an African American point of view...............I forgot..........you're not able to do that.
