I love freestyle...I've been a freestyler almost my whole life. There's just something about getting into that rhythm when you're holding 1:05s and it feels great and you could go forever. The longest I've ever gone straight is a 10,000 for time when I was 13. (I wanted to shoot myself-so boring and I got so thirsty-I don't recommend it) Swam it in 2 hours 15 minutes. For 13 I didn't think that was too bad! Otherwise I've gone almost 25,000 yards in a day. Tons of fun.

If I daydreamed I could swim freestyle for hours, probably hours straight if I had a lot of energy and keep my pace good. It's kind of interesting to see how far you can swim in a given amount of time but it's also a pretty vague form of aerobic exercise. It's better to have a workout but still, swimming without stopping is fun too.
I could also swim the backstroke for a while but eventually I'd have to stop because my lung capacity is bad and I go really far on my pushoffs coming off my flip turn so I'd be really out of breath by the end of the whole thing.

i'm a aggressive swimmer and additionally you technically do not lose assorted weight, you lose fat and stuff, yet u do upload weight in muscel. To loss some fat weight, i might propose Freestyle and Butterfly Butterfly is truthfully sturdy on your abs legs and palms, you utilize all your muscle groups and it facilitates you alot, freestyle is between the better strokes besides the undeniable fact that it works your legs and palms. you are able to swim approximately 3-5KM an afternoon to get into shape, ive been swimming for 10years now, and all my practices are 2hrs and 1hr of dry-land, I do this regular of the week, and close to the top of the year, or perhaps by using Christmas time you're in very sturdy shape, i might propose that in case you relatively like swimming and wanna drop some weight and get into shape, connect a swim team or some thing, it relatively facilitates including your Stamina staying power and usual well being. if your only commencing as much as swim, you are able to swim a minimum of two-4 circumstances a week for consistent with probability 1hr or so, then you might desire to stretch, beacuse in case you do not your muscle groups will annoying up and additionally you would be very sore in a protracted time, and likewise it prevents harm.

Butter is my absolutely favorite but since my shoulder surgery I'm limited to about a 200 before I get tired.
Back is a close second and I could backstroke for hours! I did a 5-mile backstroke open-water two summers ago. It was rough, I was very burnt but it was amazingly fun!!!
I swim miles of free at a time when I race so I guess you could say I could go for miles! ( =

I lOVE butterfly! It is a lot of fun to swim. As long as my shoulders are not acting up, I can usually swim butterfly for a while. I usually take a little break and swim some breaststroke or freestyle, but I think butterfly is a fun stroke.
Most people can swim longer in freestyle. It is using more muscles, putting less stress on those few muscles you use when swimming breaststroke.

I have 2 - I really like the Breaststroke, and I like the Elementary Backstroke. I could probably go longer with the E.B., because most of it relies on floating, and I'm a woman who is......able to float as long as she wants *grin*.

Freestly probably. My reasons for choosing this: I hold the school record in the 500 fr and qualified for club state in the 1650 fr. Longest I've ever swam was probably 10000 m in a single practice and about 20000 in a day with two practices. (100,000 m club, I swam 20000 m daily for five days straight)

I could breastroke or crawl for hours. I have always hated backstroke.. .probably ought to get a nose clip.
As for fly, for a couple of years used to do that with a breastroke kick (because my dolphin kick was lame)... but as I got taller, I reverted to dolphin kick. I can probably swim for a lot longer time (but nowhere near as fast) using a breastroke kick because once your legs fatigue in dolphin kick you find it difficult to get a breathe.

i'm really good at breast stroke, but it could use some work.
the longest distance i've gone with it was 100 yards.
coach thinks i'll do better at 200 & 500 free's.
