88 of these uber-liberal professors at Duke signed a petition demanding that the 3 LaCrosse players be expelled, and condemning them for raping this poor innocent girl. They did this without knowing a single fact of the case and without even giving the three students a chance to defend themselves or present their side of the story. They tried and convicted the three without even a nod to the concept of innocent until proven guilty. Are these idiots the kind of people who should be teaching our children? They are among the most bigoted, un-American people in the world and they should all be fired and have their teaching credentials revoked.. Lets also not forget the University President who fired the Lacrosse Coach over this incident. he should be tarred and feathered, and run out of town on a rail. Have we not seen enough of this anti-American behavior from these college liberals who despise the USA and everything it stands for?

I don't normally add comments but I'll make an exception this time. Read what illtrex wrote. "Right Wing Prosecutor"? Right, how about Democrat who, as usual, is pandering to the black community for re-election. "Never set foot in a classroom"? How about a Masters Degree? Does that trump your equivelency diploma and your certificate from cosmetology school?

These 3 men and their families suffered much more than any ball player did being called names.

I hope they all bring civil suits against a lot of people including Duke University. Jesse Jackson should give them a national televised apology for what he tried to do to their civil rights. And to the community for dividing them and setting them back decades! I do not care how rich their families are or are not. It is still not a crime to have money and be successful. I hope they get a lot more. A lot of people here in NC have seen the truth from the beginning but the national news has just began to report parts of the truth.

Beardog is completely ignorant on this. It is not even the first time the ho accused three men of rape!

You make an excellent point except for the liberals part. Why is everything always liberals and their doing? If you look at what just happened to Don Imus, surely these professors should be fired, right after they apologize. The President of the university should resign or forced out and the coach given his job back with reparations.

Only the Law Professors, they should have known better.

When god-fearing, average, white males quit fighting this nations' wars and forces the government to field an Army of draftees across (age, income, and education) the board with no deferments will anyone appreciate freedom.

In case you didn't know, this country is seriously flawed, and the all-volunteer army, the tax system, the immigration system, and Congress are the major reasons.

Look what we just did, the American people voted the very liberals in you are talking about. So what can we do?

Those three guys - who are innocent by the way - are going to have a field day with all the slander suits they are going to file. Newspapers, TV stations, Duke University, Nifong, the police, the woman who filed the false allegations, etc etc are ALL on the hook for a slander suit. And rightfully so!

The 88 professors, the president of Duke, DA Mike Nifong should all be history. How can they replace the year of scandal in these young men's lives?

Yes.

Good riddance to the nice, open-minded "scholars".

Note to the poster above me - if your college career and life were turned upside-down due to false accusations and the obvious 'guilty until proven otherwise' tone of the petition, you'd be singing a far different tune.

Fired? Perhaps too harsh and good classroom instructors (providing they are such) are hard to find.

A censure is more in order. I haven't seen nor read the letter, nor do I need to, to agree with your premise. They certainly jumped the gun...though calling them all liberal is just as bad an assumption as the professors made.

Tell you what, we will fire them if you fire Bush and Cheney for their launching a war w/o facts (you know, the WMDs).

Deal?

No they have not. They never will. They stated that their "ad" in the school paper that incited students against the players was not an attack on the players. They said that it was a generalization of rape in society.

The 88 Professors tried to Lynch the LaCrosse Players.
It was a racial lynching.
It's okay with Democrats to lynch white people without a trial.

Why not? They jumped on the bandwagon and it tipped over. Now they should be held accountable for their actions. Will they be disciplined? I doubt it.
I don't see how this is a freedom of speech issue as the first answer attests.
