Speaking of freedom of speech,in my country,Iran,a journalist will inevitably be imprisoned for expressing his views on political matters awaiting long sentences.Execution is the punishment for someone who insults the leaders of the country. So you still do have freedom of speech, relatively.

Because Communists took over the Democratic party.
People still vote Democrat because Daddy, and Granddaddy did, thus empowering communists that, as we saw in Russia and still see in China, free speech is halted.
Also, how will the taxes of the working pay for double the numbers of non working. It won't, but the Dems seem to think it will.

if you are refering to the whole Imus thing what he expressed was not an opinion, it was a generalization of all black females.
Freedom of speech is a great thing to have, but it should be used in conjuction with your brain to make a thoughtful comment. People in the media who make these comments should be punished. I say this because freedom of speech is one thing, intollerance is quite another.
The comment Imus got fired for was not the only racist or sexist comment he has made by far, but it is the straw that broke the camels back

Because not everyones speech is liked by everyone. You don't hear al-quida on the radio because it would offend people. You don't hear Imus anymore because he said some words that a certain group found offensive. That group has a large following, and if you offend them, you find yourself called a nazi, a hate-monger and racist. However if you turn the tables, most hip-hop stations say things about men and women of my race that I find offensive and they are still on the air.

No one told you that you couldn't say what you wanted to say or that you can't hold certain opinions. What you are being told is that on business property, if you say certain things, you can be terminated. That is a business' right.
But I'm with you on taxes. We are currently working into May before we start making income that goes into our pockets and not back to the government.
And for all of you saying liberals this, liberals that. I'm a liberal . . . albeit not a very happy one.

Yeah, and it can even get you death threats. I heard of these two young (13-16 y/o) girls that do white nationalist music named Prussian Blue. There have been people threatening to kill them, rape them and shoot them in the face, go to one of their concerts and spray the audience with bullets, etc.
Its a case in point of how liberals say one thing, then turn around...do another...and expect people to swallow the crap that they shovel.
I support free speech for EVERYONE, I don't give a damn what it is or what its used for.

If you're talking about Inus, no one is taking away his right to free speech. But the people who own the microphone he's using have every right to take it away from him if they don't like what he has to say.

Imus didn't brake any laws, the government has NOTHING to do with anything.
Imus shouldn't have been fired or suspended. "Nappy hair" is just a hair texture, and hoes are justa promiscuious person. Most of the team are black, and most blacks are nappy headed. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were prostitutes.
