I think that it's a great way to spread music around, like if you heard about a song and want to listen to it or if you want to check out an artist before you make a definite decision but I don't think that you should constantly do it. because it really hurts celebrities financially.

Spent a couple of years in entertainment media. What people don't understand is that the ones who are hurt are the little guys, like you and me. We're the ones whose jobs get cut, when the music company/artist loses money.
I worked for an entertainment industry media company, when the record companies cut jobs, they cut what they ordered from us; so our jobs got cut, too.
It's not okay, it's stealing. Thou Shalt Not Steal does not have any exceptions listed with it.

i dunno. but when i am at a theatre and paid ten bucks to see a movie, do i really need to sit through a bunch of long commercials about downloading movies being so bad? those ads make me want to go home and steal movies to get even with them for wasting my time when they should be smart enough to realise people like me buying tickets arent the problem.

Pay The Artist
It's immoral because the artist worked hard to make it. If you own a family restaurant would you want to give all your food away to cheap customers? If you appreciate the work, Pay The Artist

i dunno... i used to think it was ok to download songs, if you also went to shows and supported the bands that way. but the record companies get hurt too, and that sucks. so i dunno. i download some, but not really movies. i usually just rent movies. but again, that doesn't really give money to the movie companies, does it? either way... i usually just like how new cd's look. so i usually buy those. but not for any particularly strong moral conviction.
