The Houston School District Teachers are voting as you read this whether to take them out of Houston schools or not.

This is sadding to me. I really thought with all the young kids on here at least 50 would tell us a simple Yes or NO

I'm not a student, but a Mom of 2 boys ages 15 and 18.

I do not and have not agreed with the TEA tests from the beginning. I also know that many teachers do not agree...they feel all they do all year is teach TAKS material and not what we used to teach.

We are in Katy ISD, not Houston. I am anxious to see if TEA would allow one school district to remove the testing.

i live in NY, so this probably isn't helping you much, but our state tests called Regents test do not prove intelligence at all, they just prove how easy it is to teach to a test to get funding and a diploma. I don't think standardized tests do much for anyone as far as accounting for intelligence.
