Well, if I were a MLB general manager I'd say Markakis, but if I'm managing a one year fantasy baseball team, Ibanez. He hits 3 or 4 in a lineup that can produce runs at a nice rate. They play in a division that isn't too overpower, as opposed to the NL East where the O's will most likely finish 4th. Ibanez put up very solid numbers last year hitting 33 dingers with 123 rbis. and even though Markakis put up decent numbers, I'd still bet on Ibanez. Markakis is about a year away from being a legit numbers guys.

Markakis. He is a young guy with a ton of potential and could have a breakout year. Ibanez will turn 35 during the season and last year was great but remember it was by far a career year for him. He should still put up solid numbers but older guys who have career years tend to backslide quite a bit. I would be happy with either on my roster but Markakis has too much potential to pass up...I tend to draft the younger guys with high ceilings than the older guys that have peaked and Markakis looks like a star in the making.

I agree with the statement that since its one year, take Ibanez. The guy is totally underrated in fantasy land. Did he have a career year last year, yes. But he never had full time playing opportunities before. The last two years, he has hit over 50 homers and over 200 rbis hitting over .284. Thats better than a hope for a young talent to me.
