I am a Goldwater Conservative, as I believe in smaller government with less interference in the private life of citizens and balancing the budget. I resigned from the Republican party because the Neo-Cons who hijacked the party believe in bigger, more intrusive government and an outrageously large national debt with ever increased spending.

First was a liberal thought Ted Kennedy was better then slice bread in High school.

Then grew up went in the military when Clinton came to office and saw how much Democrats hate the military as a whole.

There are a few true Democrats but all and all they are trying to run my life through government and think they know what's best for my money and I don't agree. That's why in about 2 years my family Will move out of Liberal-ville Massachusetts.

I am so close to the middle it is not even funny. Why, simply because it is what I believe in. I believe in joint Free Market with regulations idea. I am sometimes cold hearted against criminals and terrorist, and international law, but think that the United Nations is one of the best things in the world today, even if it has no power. I am very patriotic, but in no way do I think that means I have to trust my government or believe what they tell me. At the same time I believe the government can, and sometimes should lie to it's people. To end it, I believe in individualism, but think that helping the poorer people is morally right. Why do I believe this? Honestly as I said before, because I do. It was not my parents or my teachers, I simply sat down and thought.

To tell you the truth, I don't know what I am. If I were to give a speech in front of conservatives and liberals, for the first half of the speech, the conservatives would stand and applaud every point, for the second half of the speech, the liberals would stand and applaud every point, and at the end of the speech, I would be lynched by both sides of the audience.

That doesn't make me middle of the road, I suppose it makes me independent.

After studying Politics for the past 3 years I have come to the conclusion that ideology sucks. Prior to going to university I thought I was a socialist. Now I know I am not! Best thing you can do is keep an open mind. Vote for who you believe can do the best job in representing you and avoid deciding on your candidate because of what side of the spectrum they lie.

well thats what I think anyway!

I'm neither. I'm an independent conservative liberal with a healthy dose of middle-of-the-road extreme left leaning right standards. Is everyone now either a liberal or conservative?

I believe in a strong economy and military. I believe in capital punishment and the Constitution. I use common sense and do my own thinking. People should be held accountable for their actions and not rely on the government for a hand out. You get ahead in life based on hard work and merit. You surround yourself with honest, trustworthy, moral friends.

Conservative!!

I was, at one time, considered to be a flaming left wing radical. So far left that I was almost out of bounds.
I have not changed but now;
I am considered to be a flaming _right_ wing radical.
This indicates that the entire political spectrum has shifted towards liberalism _around_ me.
So, what am I? conservative or liberal.. you choose.

I am neither Liberal or Conservative. I am an American who loves this country and is worried how she is heading. All the bickering between Libbys and Connies is ripping this country apart. They need to stop and realize what is happening. Or we will destroy ourselves.
