why wont the itunes site tell you how much it costs to be a member?

Membership is free. You just have to pay when you buy every song.
I'm a member, but I don't pay monthly fee or anything. Just 99 cents for each song when I download them.

There is no charge to be a member.
You only pay for the songs you download
