Bought a used hot tub. I was told it worked before the husband replaced the plug and it blew every fuse in the house. It uses 115v i plugged it into my garage and nothing....

I know its getting power because it fried the heck out of me when i was messing with the guts while plugged in..stupid i know.

Anyone know where i should start other than hiring a repair man? Do i need to start the pump some how...do hot tubs often have on off switches other than the plugging it in and the dials?

sounds like you blew a breaker, do not start the pump without water, it will burn out

Somewhere in the hot tub is a ground fault breaker or outlet that trips to keep you from getting electrocuted when idiot husbands wire the plug wrong. It could be tripped.
But, since you've cheated death twice on that thing already, you need to get a real electrician to check it out. Having improper wiring on a device that's full of water with you in it is a sure way to prove the theory of evolution is correct.

I think you need a serviceperson who knows what they're doing. Obviously you and your husband don't. What a great way to electrocute yourself with guesswork! I wouldn't want to go near anything with water in it without knowing that the electricals were absolutely perfect.

I have used several of their programs, most have rocked, some didnt -- so overall, I say that they are safe to do business with and have good programs.
