Hi margarita,

You don't have to renew but if you want a new phone and don't mind signing a two year contract it might not be a bad thing. If you don't renew nothing happens. Your bill and minutes all stay the same.

I renew with Cingular every two years but I always get a nice phone free. They gave me a RAZR the last time I renewed.

Your plan will stay the same as before except that there is no longer a fee if you cancel.

However, if you use that phone upgrade offer they will probably make you commit to staying with them for another 1 or 2 years. In other words, a cancellation fee will once again apply if you quit Cingulat/AT&T.

read your contract.
they use an evergreen contract, this means it renews all by itself unless you tell them to cancel before it expires.

I would suggest to renew your contract as to take advantage of any special phones, or offers they may have.

you actually dont need to renew.. you can continue to pay what you pay now until you find a new carrier or decide to renew. but as long as you keep up with the payments. but if you renew yes you get special discounts but dont renew until you've checked out all the competitions plans.

Not if you dont want to, you can go to another provider or stick with them, most of them will let you go month by month after your contract is up

no you don't need to, you can just not do anything and let them bill you monthly. or cancel, what i suggest is to call them and ask them to give you a better deal because another company offered you ... this this and this.. etc. make it up but make it sound plausible.
