No one knew Canada existed back then. He died in the desert trying to get to the "Promised Land".

I am sure that sometime in our history a man named Moses was trying to get to Canada and died, however the most famous Moses (Lead the Isrealites out of the desert) died before he saw the promised land, which I believe to be Cannon.

Yes. He was lynched because when he struck the rock with his staff, water came out instead of beer. The people decided to stop and settle where they were at so they could brew their own beer instead of waiting for someone else to have another go with the staff. And that's how Canada was founded! :-)
In a serious vein, Moses died trying to reach the Promised Land, Israel, then known as Canaan.
If you feel that Canada **is** the Promised Land and you like the smartypants answer better, that's fine by me. :-)

Mount Nebo, Jordan
Drive along the same route prophet Moses (pbuh) was forbidden to travel on by the King of Edom (Numbers 20), and picture yourself standing where Moses was laid to rest, and where the late Pope John Paul II tread on his first pilgrimage of the millennium.
Visit the Sanctuary at Nebo: the memorial of Moses (pbuh), the presumed site of his death and burial place, and a center for pilgrimages since earliest Christian times. You'll be inspired by the biblical feel from start to finish as you experience this divine tour.

Moses died trying to reach the Promised Land. Now, I like Canada, my best friend lives there so I visit it a lot. However, I wouldn't call it the Promised Land. Although, compared to Israel these days... hmm...

No. That statement is completely false. He died on his way to the Promised Land. Joshua continued the journey.
Watch the 10 Commandments or read the bible.

Sorry, beautiful as it is, Canada is not the Promised Land. Why Canaan was/is the Promised Land remains a mystery.
