As Jon Stewart says... it's a quagmire in Mess..opotamia! You're right, it's sad for the average Iraqi. They never know when terror may strike from any side!
But if all the experts on this region (not military) are correct, civil war would've broke out even if the US never invaded. The differences between Sunni, Shia, & Kurds are like night & day! And their groups are presented not just in Iraq, but throughout the Middle East. Where there is land to grab, riches of oil to obtain, & old vendetta's to score, they need no help to set off a civil war. The fact that the US has created an opening for extremists, isn't lost on the factions who represent any of the groups I listed previously to try to expand their ethnic group & force their laws & beliefs on the populous. It's a sad sad state of affairs!
*a little off topic.... I heard a psychic say the chaos & warring would last for 20yrs.! This prediction was given back in 2003, the start of the 2nd Gulf War (a.k.a.- US invasion of Iraq)

The Iraqis are the victims of outside evil manipulators who are using Iraq as their battleground. Iran, Syria, Hamas Alkaida and others supply the bombs, technology, consultants and money. They have only one goal which is the defeat of the US. They are also very effective at manipulating the US media and politicians. It is a sad affair but if Iraq was not the battlefield it would probably be another country or the US.
All we see in the media is a scene of desperation, war and devastation..
However most of the terrorist chaos is confined to the Baghdad area. Most of the infrastructure, schools, and other public services have improved vastly from pre Saddam days and freedom is prevalent. The Kurdish areas are prospering and are comparable to European countries. You never see this on US media.
We and the Iraqis have two choices: Abandon the country to Iran/Syria dominance or defeat these evil terrorists.
If we abandon Iraq it will just become the new terrorist headquarters like Afghanistan used to be. The battle will just be fought somewhere else. This does not help the Iraqi people.

Unfortunately there is nothing we, as Americans can do for these people. I know and am speaking from first hand experience. The only thing to do is to let them have their civil war. That is what we had to do so now it is their turn. Iraq will never be a stable country due to all of the violence and corruption in it's government. The U.S. has dumped billions upon billions of dollars into Iraq, currently there is an estimated eight billion dollars unaccounted for. Why is this? Because the Iraqi government officials decided it was easier for the money to go into their pockets or fund other things like the terrorist organizations. Yes, believe it, the terrorist organizations. One of which, and I'm not going to mention any name,(Iraqi Prime Minister)....is actually good friends with a very popular Al Queda leader....Hmmmmm. Makes me kind of suspicious....

Iraq can have freedom but they cannot as long as their land is being occupied by unwanted forces. This country has been around many many years. Who are we to push our so called democracy off on them when we're no longer a truely democratic country ourselves? Just because something works for us doesn't mean it's right for everyone. My heart breaks daily for the innocent Iraqi people. I truely believe they are so frustrated about the occupation and being so humiliated they will strike out however they can just to he heard and to show the anger that this illegal occupation has caused......
what would we do if the tables were turned and we were the occupied.......families killed, homes destroyed, country in ruins, try to picture that ...... God Bless Iraq and her people

Anyone who has a heart would "feel" for the Iraqi people but we have to remember that these people have been living this way for many many hundreds of years and for us to step in and think we are going to change their lives in a few short years is ludacris. They know nothing else and they resent us coming in and tryng to tell them how to do things even if it is for the better as we see it. I think that is why their parliment is so slow in getting themselves set up and functioning. They want to do it their way, which is not necessarilily our way and why we will continue to butt heads with these people until we finally either completely destroy them or we pull out and let them go their own way. My answer is very over simplified but I think answers your question...

I'll answer your question with a question.
Can we in the US stop our types of crimes, such as drive by shootings, rape, drunken drivers, and all the crimes that result in killing someone?
Believe it or not...there are more of those types of deaths in the US than Iraq!
In fact, the number of people that are murdered yearly in the US are more that all the Serviceman (no woman that I know of) that have been killed in Iraq in the last four years.
It is totally up to Iraq to make a door-to-door search to find and kill the terrorists.

George Bush says the troops aren't coming home for a while.... so no... they won't be.
If anyone ever invades my country, I am going to fight back with every tactic I know! If the world labels me as a terrorist, so be it. I will defend America....
