I am only asking this because im curious as to what you all believe? Do you think having a democrat for president will be good for this country or do you think it will have a negative impact? As for me I think that if a democrat does get elected president the economy would suffer. Things like social security would be effected, which a lot of people are on. Higher taxes as well, if a democrat is elected. But overally what do you think, republican or democrat?

Just look at the differences between what we have now and how good things were with the last president.

Of course it doesnt realy matter the party only the candidate. The current president a republican has set the government and economy to ruin. The country is 350 billion dollars in debt our dollar is lower then it has been for decades. Social security is about to fail were engaged in a pointless war and the world hates us. Last president a democrate the economy was strong we had a three billion dollar surplus no war the stock market was higher then it has been in all of history. Not all of the world hated us, some european and even middle eastern countries had good relationships with us.
Of course you cant say the party was responible for this all its just that when the democrates were incontroll I thought the future might be bright for a while.

That's like asking "which is more healthy arsenic or cyanide?" Do you believe having a democrat for president can be well for this nation or do you believe it'll have a poor have an impact on? I'm afraid it will most likely be poor (Dem applicants are pushing socialist schedule units, like common wellness care), regardless that you under no circumstances recognize, and the have an impact on the sitting president honestly has at the financial system is small, and ordinarily now not felt till after his time period has ended. To use a boating analogy, economies are like big cruise ships, very sluggish to reply to the helm, and the president is just like the 'captain' who attends events with the passengers, now not the only at the bridge. So, even supposing a Democratic president has a poor outcome, it is more likely to be muted. The federal reserve chairman has plenty extra have an effect on at the financial system than the President, and a Democrat is not likely to apoint another one. Clinton, for illustration, stored the fed chair - Alan Greenspan, you might have heard of him - apointed through /Regan/.

The Republicans put the policies inplace for a good economy. By the time they are just starting to kick in the populace votes in the Democrats. The Democrats take credit for it & reverse the policies that made the good economy. The Dem's then blame the Repulicians for the bad economy.

I'm curious who is going to get the blame for lack of a economically viable replacement for the dwindling fossil fuels. Both sides have been informed what the governments roll should be to get economically viable replacement.

The last democrat as president had improved the economy, this president has ruined the economy. What do you think the cost of the Iraq war really is and who will pay? Sometime America must foot the bill for this war. It won't be on Bush's watch. He got the country in horrible debt. It may take a democrat to get us out and you will blame them for raising taxes. Moronic.

It is actually more important as to which party controls Congress. They have more direct impact on the economy since all legislation relating to taxes and spending orignates in the house. The President can propose ideas and has the power of the veto, but Congress should be held responsible for the economy more than the President.

I am not discounting the power of leadership and the bully pulpit that the President has and in my opion these are two things that Bush is weakest in.

Oh shoot answer the question Jon, Republicans of course :-)

I think both parties have agenda's that defy logic... The US is so broke it will take a combination of scientist, mathematicians and quantum mechanics to figure out how we can get back to a normal economy.

Beyond that, thank goodness for US Government accounting geniuses, they have been able to fool the rest of the world with Federal reserve notes and economic disaster. Additionally, we are so inter-laced economically with other nations that; if we go down, they go down.

It really doesn't matter which party wins. Both will have to tow the line with respect to economics. But know this: They really never talk about the National Debt, it would be committing political suicide.

Actually, it's kinda complicated. The economy is a delicate machine. Sometimes you do need to cut taxes to foster growth...but sometimes you have to shear the sheep to pay the bills.

Reps say that Dems are "tax and spend", but Reps are just as bad with "borrow and spend". Instead of us paying our own way, we leave that to the next generation.

It really is a combination. I hate to say it, but the Reps and Dems need each other.

But they both are guilty of severe mismanagement of funds. Neither appear concerned about the growing debt. There is no such thing as a social security fund, since the funds are raided just as soon as they're received.

The republicans are obviously better for the economy generally. They promote tax cuts, consumer spending, and smaller government. Democrats like lots of domestic, social welfare programs that cost money, forcing higher taxes and less consumer spending.
