Al Sharpton demanded apologies and firings of Imus, now that his accusations against the Duke players have been proven false, when do we get an apology from him for those lies? Is anyone in the media even trying to be equal and fair? How many times does a man need to be caught lying to be called a liar?

Yes those young men deserve an appology. As a black woman and one who has been raped. I find that this has been a travesty not just for those young men but for woman who really have a rape case and get no justice due to woman who cry wolf like her.

I'm not sure what Al Sharpton may have been years ago, but in the last 5 or 10 years he has survived soley by being able to act as a lightenening rod for controversy. Now if he actually cared about the causes he jumped on and drew attention too, then he would apologize for those times when he makes false accusations.
that he doesn't, and wont with regard to the duke incident is proof that his real intent is self promotion. What is important to him is not the incident, or righting the wrong, but that HE be at the center of it, and if something does happen, that he instigated it.
It's a shame, because it would lend so much more credibility to him and his "causes" if he were more open about those times when he has been wrong

The way I see it is, Al Sharpton ruined the lives of 4 men. The first three being the Duke Lacross team guys that were falsley accused for rape, and second, Don Imus. Don Imus lost his career now. Ok so he insulted someone. BFD. Isn't america made up of free speech?

I think we should ship Al Sharpton off to Siberia.

That's a question asked by many these days. But, I hope no one holds thier breath. Al Sharpton does'nt think he's done anything wrong, so in his mind he has no need to apologize. He's a media hound. As long as they'll scratch, he'll keep barking, and wagging his tail. Just like his brother Jesse Jackson. The Just-us brothers.

AMEN! I am a black 27 year old female. I DO NOT THINK DON IMUS SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED. He hosts a controversal show and talks equally about everybody. I dont see Al Sharpton or all of the black community asking for the resignation of all of its own people (especially in hip hop) that call them out the same way. Black women have been called far worse before and the best way to fight back is to show that you are not that type of person.....not by getting somebody fired for freedom of speech....AL SHARPTON SHOULD BE FIRED FROM ALL POSITIONS OF LEADERSHIP FOR HIS REMARKS AGAINST THE DUKE LACROSS TEAM!!!

I actually lived in Wappingers Falls, N.Y when the Tawana Brawly scandal went down. Al Sharpton accused so many people of being involved, that everyone in Wappingers had bumper stickers that said "I'm from Wappingers Falls and I didn't do it". Al Sharpton is nothing but a big mouth... he doesn't care about defending African Americans- it's only a guise to draw attention to himself.

As someone here arlready said, Sharpton gets his power by creating racial tension. He and Rev. Jesse Jackson make money off of it so he will never apologize. I am Not a Don Imus fan, but does anyone think he got the shaft? who are Revs. Sharpton and Jackson to tell us what we can or can't say?

Imus be having a bad dream.

as an african-american woman, the problem i see with this picture is that he is not going to apologize, because he thinks that he can do no wrong. he loves to get on the bandwagon and start a race riot. i hope that we can all just get along, but we can't because as long as people like him and jesse jackson, won't stand up to the hip hop culture that treat and call women names, we are going to have these hot spots and not really get rid of the big fire. I BET BEFORE THE END OF THE SUMMER SOME RAPPER IS GOING TO HAVE A SONG WITH THAT TITLE OR CLOSE TO (WHAT IMUS SAID) AND NO ONE IS GOING TO SAY ANYTHING..

are you kidding HE the so called right wing pig headed most racest will not come out and he is sorry for what he said about 3 young men lifes he and other Blacks said about the boys, cuz some dumb ho came out and she she was raped. that was traced back to her pimp betting her. Just like Mr. Don Imus getting fired for what he said. but when sharpton put down the jews in the U.S. He was not Fired. but still when right on with what he called his job.ever he can get his face in or on to be on the news and make a name for him self...
and like the so call jessic jackson will step up and say he sorry as well

Oh and one other thing what about that little old lady of 103 that was beat by the young black male did sharpton or jackson step up for her for the fact they are to be there for ALL racees in need. or any race step up for this old lady. ... NO they did NOT but IF it was a black lady being beat by a white male the news, al sharpton and jackson would be all over this and the town where it happen would have been burned to th ground that night by the blacks riting...
it time for the white to stand up and there own dam group and if something like the rape or the lady beating "WE" stand up and get those who carrier it out but lets keep it human (unlike other races) and do it right way by the laws this land was formed on...

He will not apologize for his false accusations against the Duke LaCrosse team. He doesn't have to. Freedom of speech works both ways. Silence IS a form of freedom of speech. Unfortunately, this is going to be a back and forth thing. This (race wars) has been going on for years and will continue for many years to come unless WE as people come together. Stop the ignorance and let's work together for the BIGGER issues we have. There is good and bad in every race. This world will be a better place when Black people learn that Not every white person is a racist and when White people learn that Not every Black person is a criminal. The best way to attack this situation is to educate ourselves by learning each others history.

We need to learn to pick and choose our fights. Everything doesn't have to be a problem.

P.S. I am a BLACK MAN!!!!!!
