i mean if there wasn't animal testing alot of desieses would still kill thousands of people. animal testing is better than killing other people. do you value the life of a half-brained rabbit who proabbly would have been road kill a long time ago to the life of a person? whould you perfer we use peopple from 3rd world countries, a young child (who is just as innocent as a rabbit or dog), seniors (who are probably someones grandpa or gandma) who don't contribute anything to socioty or people in jail for crimes as petty and small as theft(not saying its bad but would you kill someone for it?) or have been wrongly accused? Is it real bad for a dog or animal who was origionally in the puond and ready to be put down, now living in a lab getting cover girl blush put on its belly just to see if it gets a rash? How many animals hav been saved and haave proved a better purpose in life to save thousands of lives now and many more to come. i know it sounds cold but its the truth.

what is a thousand lives of mice to the thousands of lives of humans. plus if you are just against non-medical testing, hten it is irrational to ban only non-medical and let medical research continue, when it is more abusive and cruel than anything else. please give me one good answer to why its so bad.

I'm trying to cool down before I answer.
The wise Gandhi one said: 'To me, the life of a man, is no more precious, than the one of a lamb.'
What does he mean by this? that the man isn's worth anything because the lamb isn't? no. Is he actually saying that they are worth the SAME? YES.
All lives, all species have the SAME right to live. Why do you have any more right to live than a precious siamese? or a great elephant? or a hardworking ant? Why? are you something so great or magestic? are you a God by any chance? no. So? why are you this whole superior being to all these wonderful animals. You live much more than them. hy not let them enjoythe life that they do have? Who are you to stop them?. What do you think you are?.
I mention again, what Gandhi said. I sostain that the beating heart of a small delicate rabbit is worth exactly the same as a terrible war sostaining human. Of course they're not all like that. There are gentle good humans too, just like there are animals. Honesty? what an issue. Children are honest, whereas most human adults are lying and deceitful. We are crowding the Earth with all types of animal species, wonderful ones, with our stupid tall buildings and cutting down every forest to the ground.
I would never think someone would actually need an explanation to this, but I guess people are half-brained anyway.
I'm trying to keep calm, as this pours me out with rage to see people's mentality.
I'm not going to keep you from your ideas, as mediocre and empty (not even half) headed as they seem to me.
When you don't even KNOW how it's done, then why do you complain about it?. And if you do know, shame on you. I would rather have a million times a fascinating beetle than someone as cruel.
They take the inoccent rabbits face forcefully and stuff some kind of pomade into the corner of it's eye. If it bloats away with blood coming out of it horribly, they don't care. They just use the other eye. And thousands of more HORRIBLE un-humane things.
Why not think of other alternatives to test, instead of living beings? obviously you've never really loved an animal.
Now I leave you, I'm not here to convince someone who may not even understand half of what I'm saying. Go put on your precious cover girl blush, I'm sure you look perfect with it, and let's hope that people look at your face and admire how preety it is with the death of ten or more animals written on it, oh and also try to make your mind beautiful, instead of your face.
Sorry if I was rude, but I hope I made my point.

I don't know if any of you have ever signed up to test a new drug(my sister was going to), but if you do you have to sign a waiver that says if you die then the company is not at fault and they do not have to pay for any medical treatment you may need for using the product or drug. She didn't do it...not sure who would. You know a company isn't allowed to test an aids drug on people with aids unless that drug has been approved by the FDA and has been tested numerous times. If someone tests a drug that hasn't been approved they go to jail. The only way to get that drug approved is through animal testing. If animals couldn't be tested and the only alternative was humans I think all testing would be ended. If people think animal testing is cruel, wait till you see a bunch of homeless people signing up to make money and dying as a result of the tests. Who else would sign up but the poor. The only reason my sister even considered testing a drug was so she could get money to help pay for college(she had many other college friends who considered it). I love animals, but I do support animal testing because I hate to think of what our world would be like without it. For all those people against it I'd like to see you sign up for testing.
Thought I should add something pertaining to naturechilds comment. Well you do know that God said that man should have dominion over all the animals of the earth, sea, and air. So yes we are better than animals. Animal testing not only helps humans but animals to. Why don't you go to Africa and tell the millions of children dying from aids that they should just die for the sake of an animal. If they ever did come up with a way to do their tests without humans or animals that would be a good thing, but science is far from it. I guess you value the life of an animal more than a human. You must if your so against testing that has resulted in cures that have save millions of people. Vaccinations that prevent you from getting diseases and sicknesses like the flu. I for one care about people and frown upon those who don't. Jesus said you should love one another. He never said to love animals. In the old testement animals were sacrificed to God. Since Jesus sacrificed himself we don't have to sacrifice animals. You may not believe in God, but that doesn't change the fact that it does save lives. The point of this whole thing is to answer a question, which I did. Everyone has their own opinion same as I do, and I hope we can all respect each other.

O-kay in some small way I get your point, but listen to mine. I understand that medical research has come along way, and that in part is due to animal testing. I'm not gonna say I approve of it, but I am at times grateful. I do however have a problem with make-up, lotions, shampoo and other none medical testing. they are not being used to cure some awful disease, they are being used so some one can look better.

Why are you in elementary words asking Jews? we are no longer some form of cult the position everybody is meant to imagine and act an identical. some Jews do no longer approve of animal finding out and some do. adverse area: Animals are damage and tortured for the exhilaration of human beings at the same time as it really is performed for beauty study. useful area: Animal finding out will be utilized to study about human ailments and coverings yet on condition that the animals are treated humanely.

Here is one good answer:
Medical testing on animals is an outdating practice that is flawed. If animal test were reliable than there would not be so many recalled drugs.
Animals systems are far different than humans. Human diseases do not happen in animals, they are artificially created, therefore not the actual disease. Saying that animals are similar is not enough. If you were in a room and were told the air outside was similar to oxygen, but not quite, would you risk you life and go out? Or if I told you my lottery numbers were similar to the winning ones, would you start congradulating me?
Animals are different in many ways, arsenic can be ingested in great amounts by sheep, but would kill any human.
Animals testing lies, Animals and humans differ in medically important ways, and often animal experiments can produce misleading results. For example, repeated animal studies failed to demonstrate a correlation between cigarette smoking and lung cancer. As a result, public warnings about the dangers of cigarette use were delayed, despite a wealth of compelling human data. Likewise, animal experiments in stroke research led to false conclusions, misleading researchers and wasting time and research funds. Of the 25 drugs which appeared to reduce the effects of stroke in rodents, not a single one worked in human patients.
Species are different and result differ among humans and animals. For example, liver tumors can be induced via chemicals in mice, but the same chemicals do not induce cancer in rats or hamsters. Benzedrine causes bladder tumors in humans, liver tumors in hamsters and middle ear tumors in rats
Animal experimentation has not helped people nearly as much as it has thwarted progress in the life sciences. Because animal research often gives false or misleading results, it wastes valuable time, often delaying life-saving treatments while rushing questionable and possibly harmful therapies to the marketplace. Some of our most significant breakthroughs in medicine have been made without animals. These include x-rays, MRIs and CT scans.
What needs to be done is focus on the people that have developed the disease. Computer technology has come a long way. There are models, programs, etc. The choice here is not between babies and dogs, it's about real science and fake science.

A lot of the animal right people are more against society than for the animal well been. A lot of myths are produced by this people and these follow the lines of the way in which animals are treated in these centres. The Animals Right groups will fire bomb the animal testing centres, with the animals inside or release them to the wild where they die, lucky quickly or if unlucky painfully over a few days.
All testing on animals is highly regulated and minimal stress and harm to the animal is required by law. Would you stick a makeup brush in your eye, no, then that would not be tested (why would you spend the money testing something that the results are pointless?)
Animal Rights Groups are condemned in court by there treatment of the animals and are considered terrorists, fire bombs, death threats, vandalism.

First of there is a big difference between lab mice being used to test disease cures (it is usually mice for this as they are rather similar in dna structure to humans) than rabbits, dogs, cats etc. being used to test uneccesary products like makeup.
The way they treat animals that are used to test make up is disgusting. The don't rub blush on a dog's belly, they would shove the blush in his eye to see if he goes blind. The animals spend their lives in tiny cages with daily torturous things being done to them and it isn't even for anyhting important

i think it is horrible even if it is just mice think of all the animals that eat mice. my opinion is who cares if one person dies it's not like we need any more people is this over crowded world. but even if a dog is in the pound and that it gets put down it is better than having it suffer with a makeup rash until it dies from infection or reaction. why don't we take you to a lab and see if you like having chemicals injected into you and you suffer?

The politics of nonhuman rights in today's world isn't that people are part, or conquerers, of nature, but that we're interlopers disrupting a "delicate balance" that, in all reality, isn't actually there (nor was nature ever in a balance). Animal rights is one facet of the movement, regarding animals as having at least the same rights as humans without questioning the origins of rights in the first place.
For those against animal testing, I recommend sticking to your convictions and refusing treatment by any method or drug that was tested on animals. You can suffer with your morals in tact.
