Because they are thinking about themselves and there the family. They never think about others (this note is not for all leaders only for some) and they forgetting there duties when come to there power

They take bribe because money brings power and power brings money. Indian politicians know it so well that the moment they get in politics they work on building a hugh "war chest" and that helps win friends and influence. In USA also only rich people get in to politics and get elected.
I think taking brides is not so bad idea for anyone who can afford them.

Every political leader thinks that his time in the power will be for a limited period as he is now sure whether he can become a minister for the next term. So he try to make maximum money during the period he is in power.
