I LOVE Les Miserables
The story to me is fantastic and very heartfelt, a true classic story of love and what lengths people will go to.
As for poems my all time fave is:
Tennyson's The Lady of Shallot Simply amazingly beautiful

"Love you forever" by Robert Munsch
It's really cute. It's about the relationship between a mother and her son and how from birth she took care of him till she became old and couldn't do it no-longer then he takes care of his mother like she did for his entire life. It had a cute poem that goes like this...
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.
It's a story how a little boy goes through the stages of manhood and becomes a man. It's also about the enduring nature of parents' love and how it crosses generations.
It's a great book to read to your children.
