i have a project to do and i have never seen the movie or read the book or anything. I really need some help or i'll lose my mind.

In the town of Salzburg in Austria, Maria, a woman studying for the Roman Catholic sisterhood in a convent, is sent out to be a governess to the seven children of Captain Georg Ritter von Trapp, a widower and a decorated World War I captain in the Austro-Hungarian Navy. Von Trapp is also an Austrian patriot at a time when it is safer to be friendly to the ascendant Nazi regime. The children, initially hostile and mischievous, soon come to like Maria. She finds herself falling in love with the stern Captain, who is engaged to be married to Baroness Elsa Schräder. He too finds himself warming to the young governess. After winning the children's hearts by teaching the family the joy of song, and after some soul searching by Maria and misunderstandings fostered by the Baroness, Maria leaves the convent and marries the Captain. Maria and the Captain arrange for the family to escape, after a family concert, through the convent and over the mountains to Switzerland so that the Captain does not have to serve in the Kriegsmarine of the Third Reich.

There was a wealthy widower with 7 children. He needed a governess for the children, and wound up hiring a woman who was trying to become a nun to be the governess. She was a talented singer and guitar player, and taught the children to sing. She and the father fell in love and they married. At the time, the Nazi's were trying to convince the father, (a sea-captain) to come join the Nazi party. He didn't want to, so he and his family fled to the United States.

The Sound of Music is about a young woman in Austria. She wants to become a nun. While she is in the convent, she goes to work as a nanny for a rich Austrian widower who has several children. She falls in love with the children and with him. They marry and then the Germans begin their march through Austria. They are anti Nazi and the Germans know it. They climb the Alps and escape with all the children.
Just rent the movie.

It's a true story about a rich man who is widowed with 7 children in Austria just around the time Hitler is coming to power. He is against the Nazis and has to flee eventually. Also, his governess is a nun-in-training and they fall in love.
Oh, and the kids form a singing group with the help of the nun governess.

ok, this chic (julie andrews) is a nun and her nun supervisors are all like "blah" and send her to work for this army guy who has a bunch of kids and who is about to marry this other chic. well the dude she goes to work for is all strict and stuff so julie andrews teaches the kids how to sing and dance and be themselves, in other words have "fun" and at first the dude is all mad about that but then he falls for julie andrews. meanwhile, one of the kids (a 16 year old girl) falls in love with this dude (who's not a ***hole, if u were wondering) and im not sure but he might have had to go off to war, ne way but when julie andrews realizes that they don't need her anymore and the dude is n love with her she goes back to the nunery cuz she's a nun. she might have ended up back with the dude and his kids though, can't remember....it is a really good movie u should rent it the movie is thourogh and interesting and there is plenty to write about. btw, if you don't watch the video ur gonna fail cuz there are lots of details. also, if you don't have time or want to watch the movie go to sparknotes.com i don't know if they'll have anything though. hope this helps

watch the movie,lol. It's about a governess who goes to teach this baron's children, the Vontrap family. (he has alot of them, 7 I think). She is originally a nun, but it's in the beginning of the war in Germany, so they have all to flee to avoid any confrontation. It' s a good movie
