Some of it is...most certainly...
but there are alot of really amazing strides being made in the area of Hip Hop and Rap...as well as new, creative things coming from the genre.
Just look at Gnarles Barkly (Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse) and Timberland...
But people like YING YANG TWINS produce disposable crap! Too much of that crap fills the airways nowdays!

yes, some rap is crap but some rock, r&b, people, animals, tv shows, blues, pop, movies, actors, bands, porn stars, authors, movie producers, presidents, child molesters {all molestors} teachers, fingernail polish, cleaning supplies, recipes, pets, colors,etc. is also. Why fixate on rap music? Is it because its composed of mostly black people? Hold up!!!! Are you prejudice?!?!

I think a big part of it is, especially since Al Sharpton will not fix this problem like he tries fixing so many when it comes to race.

well when it was poetry with a beat in coffee houses having drums and sometimes a bass and piano accompaniment and it was sub-culture that was good rap

if the beat to the song is old school and there is too much cursing, then yes, it is wack. Some rap is actually okay
