I am having a bit of an 'issue' with my chest area. My back has been hurting, and I have been shopping around for a dress that has been very discouraging, because nothing fits me. It looks really gross to me how big I am, and especially for how young I am. My mom is going to send me to the doctor to talk about getting a reduction. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm a little worried, I WANT to have the procedure done, because of how I will change in the outcome, but I HATE doctors. Anyone know what the reduction process will entail?

I've never heard of lipo on shoulders but I've heard of doing lipo to breasts (actually have heard of lipo to your sides so you don't have any fat on your sides to look like "side boob").

This procedure helped my back neck and shoulder pain. The moment I woke up from surgery I had no pain. I was on light duty for two weeks and eventually got up to full strength in less than a month.

You'll either go to the plastic surgeons office or to a hospital. If at a hospital they usually have you stay overnight for a precautionary measure (I stayed overnight).

I was in surgery for I think 3 hours. Had a total of five pounds removed from my chest to take me from a 38J to a 38C back in February 2006. You'll be covered in gauze and bandages and will be swollen and bruised for some time.

Patience is key to recovery. Full size will take about a year to get to and so will nipple sensation and your scars will also take about a year to fade (so no putting the scars to the sun or they will turn permanently red!).

The site below helped me out a LOT before and after surgery. Check out the FAQ section and the main support board area with your mom.

The only regret with this surgery is... I did not get it done sooner! I love my new breasts and my back feels soo much better.

Make sure you and your mom go and see at least THREE plastic surgeons that are in your insurance plan or you/her will pay more out of pocket. Check out there before and after pictures and take note of how long after the surgery the pictures are taken... if they are within 6 months they will still be swollen and the scars will not look too pretty.

I used scarguard and mederma for my scars and they are barely noticeable.

There are also different incisions that can be done. The site above and below has a FAQ section that tells you about the different incisions and something called a Free Nipple Graft (try not to get that done).

Hey there. I'm now 40 years old and had a breast reduction when I was 22. I was a 34FF. I had back trouble, permanent grooves in my shoulders from bra straps, and had a terrible time with clothing.
My plastic surgeon was terrific, he was honest with me about scaring, which with the technology today wouldn't be nearly as noticeable as mine, which wasn't really that bad.
I was in the hospital short stay, and my recovery was 5 days of taking it a bit easy and 2 weeks of really no heavy lifting. I really don't remember feeling much pain.
The pay off, I went to a much more proportionate size of a C cup and my self esteem skyrocketed.
Make certain your plastic surgeon specializes in this area or has done more than 100. For example don't go to a Dr. who specializes in rhinoplasty (noses). Most Plastic surgeons now are specialized by procedures. Also ask to see pictures of his previous surgeries and ask if you can call a couple previous patients, and ask about satisfaction and how pleased they are.
I can tell you honestly you will be very happy with your decision to have the surgery.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have more questions or concerns.
Good Luck!

There are a lot of us in the same situation so do not worry. I am having my Breast Reduction on Wednesday- going from a 34G to a 34D. My surgeon is FANTASTIC- as some of the others said go to a plastic surgeon who specialises in breasts and/or womens plastic surgery. My surgeon has his own practice which is only Plastic surgery for women, so he is very experienced in the field of breasts. From what I have seen Plastic Surgeons seem to be a lot different to standard doctors- they have dealt with women who feel uncomfortable and embarrassed about how they look so they are very friendly and compassionate towards you. You should meet with a few different Plastic Surgeons and discuss the procedure etc with them- that way you can decide who uses the best breast reduction techniques, incisions, the hospital in which they operate from etc.

As soon as I met my surgeon I knew that he would be perfect for me- and I had a choice out of two hospitals which he operates in. I have actually chosen to be operated on at a small private hospital which only accomodates up to 30 patients because I knew that this way I will be in a room with other women who have had plastic surgery and not just any random stranger male or female in a huge hospital-this is a great way to go if you are worried about having a lot of different nurses and doctors seeing you.

Sorry I have gone on a lot about this but I will just leave you with a link to a great website:
www.locateadoc.com
On this site you can view hundreds of before and after pictures of women- I found this really great to see how fantastic other womens surgeries have turned out.
You can also view animated slides, complete with a voiceover of exactly how the procedure is done and it has all the different reduction techniques available.

P.S. They often do liposuction to the sides of the breasts if you have a lot of fatty tissue- my surgeon has told me that he will attempt a bit of lipo to this area but he doesn't think that he will be able to get much because I have solid breasts- not fatty breasts, it all depends on what your breasts ar elike to begin with. If you have straight lipo without the reduction and lift then your breasts will still sit at the same level so if they are already then they will still be droopy, but they will be smaller and droopy with loose excess skin.

I hope this is all informative and helpful for you :)

at the same time as i became in the army, one among my troops confirmed me a photo of her taken many years before. She stood 5', and regarded like Dolly Parton. She had breast relief surgical procedure. She became having lower back pains, shoulder pains. She lifted her blouse and bottom of her bra and also you need to particularly see a mild red scar below her breast. (sure, we were that close as acquaintances...lengthy tale.) She is a attractive gal and considering the fact that the surgical procedure, she became a a lot happier one, too. talk with a health care professional about a breast relief. Like daybreak, i imagine you'd be a lot happier. sometime we had a social gathering on the homestead of one among my different troops, and that i said daybreak and a huge breasted neighbor in the nook speaking. That summer season, Tina (the neighbor) became over in her bathing in structure and something only did not seem proper. She quickly said, "I even might want to take this element off. My stitches are itching like loopy." Then it dawned on me (pardon the pun) that she, too, had breast relief. those little domestic dogs were status proud. sturdy good fortune!

I can't really say I know what you're going through, because I haven't been through it myself. But all I can say is that you should make sure you find the right surgeon for the process. There's a lot of fakes out there and i've seen people on television that have had it done and had gotten infections that could almost kill them etc etc. You could get it free.. if you are entitled to it then that's great. But i'm sure you'll be fine.. and just make sure whoever's doing it knows what they're doing!!

Go to the doctor and have a discussion .First of all he will not do the surgery unless he thinks it is right for you . I know three people that have had it done and they all say it is the best decision they ever made .
