Google and Yahoo! give similar results to search queries. I for one enjoy the simplistic interface of Google and therefore use it to look up something quick. I use Yahoo! for mail, Answers, music and movies. I use Google for Google Earth, Froogle and Google Video. They both have their own advantages and disadvantages.

I would per fer to use ChaCha.com! There you can do a live search. With a live person that has experience on the topic that you are searching for. If you per fer you may also search for the topic yourself. It is a wonderful site! Give it a try!
But, since you question ask for either Google or Yahoo. I would have to pick Google. Google gives you more relevant results.

For years I used Yahoo search, but it has been at least 3 to 4 years that I made the switch to Google. It's simpler and better in my humble arrogant opinion. I still use many of Yahoo's other services such as: Fantasy Sports, Email, Messenger, Answers, among others.

Depends on what you are looking for... Yahoo for pop culture things, Google for science.
