ratio means what you multiply by to go from one term to the next:
1/3 is your answer.

1 X 1/3 = 1/3
1/3 X 1/3 = 1/9...etc.

(1/3)/1 = 1/3
(1/9)/(1/3) = 3/9 = 1/3
