I would not recommend a common name with a funky spelling. I know it's the style now to spell Mary Maree and Eric as Arik, but it will give the kids problems in school and in their professional lives.
If you want your child to suceed, give them a common name and a fancy name. If they want to use the fancy name everyday, they can. If they need a common name for their professional careers, they can have that, too.
Examples:
David Valdyn Clark = D. Valdyn Clark or David V. Clark or David Clark or Valdyn Clark.
Cynthia Aran (Erin) Clark = Cynthia Clark, Cynthia A. Clark or C. Aran Clark or Aran Clark.

Well the list could go on and on but I do not reccommend the name Piper or Mable those sound like food and I do not like the name Ham or Liam. The name Piper reminds me of pop, the name Mable reminds me of syrup, the name Ham reminds me of well ham and the name Liam reminds me of Lima Beans. Okay then! Well hope this helps!

You can get as many names from as many people as you like but when it comes down to it the name you will choose is the one you had in your head all along.
