Can I hook up two sets of these Logitech's to my computer by using a male-male splitter to make it louder? or would the sound signals cancel?

as the 2nd answer hinted @, the problem is not the Logitech Z4s, per se; they are as you point out yourself loud;
if you want it louder, buy more powerful loudspeakers (Z4 80Wattts peak) and that would be the Z-2300 (400Watts peak).

once again, it's not about quantity, it's about Quality ;)

You can plug your PC to a Stereo with audio input, you just need a cable from the PC to the RCA Audio input which you can buy in Radio Shack or Steren.

Splitting it will give you more speakers and will work fine. It will not create a surround sound system since it's the same signal. If you have a surround sound card, plug them into the "rear speaker" ports.
