According to the Book of Mormon a dark skin is a curse imposed by God on the unrighteous and their descendants as a punishment for sin. Do you agree with that doctrine? (Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 12:22-23, Alma 3:6, 2 Nephi 5:21-22, Jacob 3:8, 3 Nephi 2:15-16, Mormon 5:15; references to the "Lamanites" are taken to be referring to Native American "Indians".

I am not Mormon but did a report on it once in college...how old is your book of Mormon? I believe before 1978 only whites could go to heaven...but any book of Mormon printed after that says minorities can...the book of Mormon is crazy ludicrous though....it has changed some 3000 times in the 150 years of its existence.. average that out and they make a change in doctrine about once every 18 days...

Dark skin was not the curse, it was the MARK of the curse.

And, if you actually READ the Book of Mormon, you will see that, at some times, it was the so-called "cursed" Lamanites who were the righteous people and the Nephites who were not, yet, skin color changed only once, and then only for a few people.

If God imposed dark skin on all unrighteous today, there would be very few white people. VERY few.

The curse was actually upon the forefather who committed the actual sin. Descendants have been priests, kings and men of honor and renown. So I see no stigma for people of dark skin anymore than I feel a personal stigma because I'm white and so was Benedict Arnold. Association by color of skin is a narrow minded concept that the Mormon Church has rejected a long time ago.

What's your agenda here? Are you Mormon-bashing or Mitt Romney bashing or both? You've completely twisted the scripture. Besides, that was commonly referenced in the Bible as well.
