As far as I know it's never the case that one person owns a team. Is Steinbrenner the sole owner or are there other people as well. If you what percentage of the team does her own?

Technically, the Yankees are owned by a private corporation called Yankee Global Enterprises LLC (which also owns the YES Network). Though Steinbrenner is the majority owner, there are several people and firms that own minority stakes in the company, though I think most of those are in the Steinbrenner family.
