Wasim Akram, Saeed Anwar, Allan Border, Stephen Fleming, Matthew Hayden, Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara, Garfield Sobers, Daniel Vettori, Chaminda Vaas, Brian Lara, Graeme Smith, plus I am sure many more are left handed. I am sure that at the top level of the game there is much more than the national average of 8-15% left handedness. Plus even more at the very top of the game are left handed! (Even though Tendulkar bats right handed he writes left handed). I know that people say that left handers are awkward and different and so get further in sport. But I don't think it can just be this. Why do you think it is?

It is not correct that majority of cricket players are left handed. Only a small percentage of players are left handed.
It is just a coincidence that some left handers select cricket as their favourite game and get selected to play for the nation if they excell in the game. The left handers are considered to be a rare breed in cricket and it is considered difficult to play against left handers.

There are only a few players who are lefties. In cricket out of the whole team only one or two players are LH's the rest are all Right handed. Usually the players are used to right handed bowling and batting styles so when somebody with left hand style comes in the other team or players face problems.

Millions of People paly cricket, 8 out of 10 are right handed player. Number of left handed player are less so player develop thier skill against the Right haded becuase they are in the majority.
When the left handed come they bring unorthodox manner of play. The strategy or planning against them not so good as agianst right handed one.

When u consider that here are millions of cricketers out there, thats nothing, but they make an impression because they do everything in an unorthodox fashion by being left handed.

There effective are quite some stylish lefties accessible, yet i'd reckon for each record of stylish lefties, you need to also make up a list of stylish righties; and yet another record of lefties batting gruesome... i don't think of "kind" has something to do with left / proper handedness...
