Doesn't make much sense, does it? It's like saying all white people are associated with Adolf Hitler or George Bush or Jaques Cousteau....or some other white guy.
We're all individuals, regardless of race. It's not fair for people to associate anyone of a particular race with anyone - just because your skin color may be the same doesn't mean that you are "a part of" or "represented by" that person.

I'm black and I dislike both Al Sharpton AND Jesse Jackson. I think they take advantage of situations and foster racism because that's what gets them paid.

And by the way, I don't associate whites with slave owners. Only 15% of whites in the south had money for slaves, anyway. Not to mention immigrants from Ireland, Scotland, etc. I guess it's just a matter of knowledge about other people.

Black people aren't associated with all sharpton. Al wants to represent black people, sometime in ways I don't agree with. I think sometimes he goes a bit further than social equality, and heads towards Black supremacy.

Sharpton, like Jesse Jackson and other religious nabobs, is delegated by the white power structure as a spokesperson for African-Americans.

This is silly, but religion is how power has been built and maintained since the takeover of Christianity by Constantine of Rome in 325 AD.

Just as the notion that everyone associates black people with Al Sharpton. Goes both ways I guess...

I don't know. But, I get tired of people assuming that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are like our gods or something. Most black people could care less about what they have to say. But, somehow they represent us all. I don't get it.

I personally think Al Sharpton is an opportunist.

He doesn't represent my views at all...

AL Sharpton is black

he speaks for those who have had their voices beaten out of them. he speaks for those that are consistently overlooked by the system of living Americans. he speaks for those that are given little, in education, housing etc. yet pay the same taxes, abide by rules that are not equal in the justice system.

Al Sharpton is a leader that is there when no one else cares.
when you do not have money and power and privilege, who are you going to call?

Black people call Rev. Al Sharpton and he answers!

peace

Al Shartpton is the first black person to jump on a bigoted remark and act ,and thats what i like about him i really hate when a person stands up to find justice in a racial problem and someone calls his an opportunist.I don't see them doing anything about it
