They say that in MOST women shortly before birth the babies movement will decrease. Since he is more active now than he has ever been these last couple days what does that mean? Does it mean he has awhile to go? LOL Just curious as to how much movement I should be having at 37 weeks generally speaking. Thanks.

Also how much swelling at 37 weeks? Im having lots of left foot/calf swelling.

I don't know if it is so much that the baby moves less, it is just a different type of movement. When there is plenty of room you feel lots of kicks and elbows punching you. When there is less room you feel more shifting and rolling. Kind of like when you're sitting at your desk and you roll your shoulders. Some people have more swelling than others, I'd ask your doctor about that.

Sounds like this might be a good think.Your baby maybe just a happy, excited, and very active baby.Maybe hes excited about getting close to meeting mommy.Just to be sure, you should get in touch with your doctor or mid-wife to see how the baby is doing.

Sounds very normal. BUT call your doctor and speak with his/her nurse if you feel physically off. It never hurts and reassures. I've had two children. One rolled about kicking and punching the whole time. It's when you don't feel any movement you should be concerned. My second got too quiet and we had to induce immediately. He had the cord wrapped two times around his neck and three times around his arm. It was hairy but he's fine.
