He has not made a decision to move yet, and I understand that he has the right to if he so decide. The father of my oldest son is taking me to court to force our son to make a decision. I lost my job, but it was sent over seas. I have been approved for TAA benefits to go back to school. I and my current husband worked for the same company, now we live on unemployment. I want to go to school to improve my skills and find a job that has less of a chance of this happening again. So, how can I pay child support or how much will I have to pay if my son moves. Help!!!

Child support typically falls around 33% of your gross income. Some states are using a new formula to calculate child support. It goes like this..
Lets say you make 10,000 dollars per year. And lets say your X makes 100,000 dollars per year. Now let's say the state guideline for child expenses in your state is 500 dollars per month per child. Since you make 10% of what your X makes, that means you are responsible for 10% of 500 dollars per month, which comes to 50 dollars per month. That does not include half of medical. You may also have to pay half medical expenses in addition to child support.
In regards to unemployment... the judge will not look favorably upon that UNLESS you ARE going to school to better yourself. So, make sure you are in school if you go to court.

Nothing to worry about. If you are a good mother and he is treated well. You have no drug problems, they will not remove him. The worst case would be the judge would ask him point blank..."where do you want to go?" he will have to answer. But child support is based on your income as well as the father. so If he makes alot of money and you make none then it wont be much. All of this differs from state to state.

If your son goes to live with his father, you sould be forced to pay child support or be put in jail. That is what happens to men, it's only fair it should happen to women too. It's your job to support your kid, if you didn't want too you shouldn't have had them.

The fact that you have supported him for 15 years is meaningless.

The fact that your job has been sent overseas is meaningless.

The only important fact is that the child is supported by both parents. It's your job to do just that if he moves in with his father. Works both ways, just because you are a woman doesn't give you a free pass.

As long as your child chooses to stay with you, then no problem. However, if he chooses to live with his father and given that this child is 15, you will only have to pay from now until he is 18.

Wow, your son might leave your home, and the first thing you're worrying about is how much child support will you have to pay? Unbelievable.
