Only if his reason for wanting the money seems right and fair to you.

You may want to specify the context. Is he an overindulged child? Is this a pattern or isolated incident? Does he need it? What is it for? Is he on punishment? Etc.

The real question you need to ask yourself is - if I do, then what message am I sending him? What life lesson is he learning from the principle or example, I am presenting?

Children need to learn to appreciate things, that rewards are earned, that you work hard for your money (I'm assuming). Overindulged or needlessly indulged children will not understand these things, and will become self-centered adults with a lack of priority and realistic vision.

Need more info. How old is your son? Is he helpful around the house? Is he a good kid? Now, be honest, Is he really a good kid? What is he doing with the money? Can you afford to give him the money?

NO! You need to find out what he wants to do with it.

heheh. Ten dollars can take him a long way! It can buy him all kinds of drugs and if he knows where to shop a bottle of vodka even.

Give it to him if you are sure he needs it for some lunch or something he needs but not if you dont know what he is doing with it.

Depends on what he needs, and if you can afford it. You can use the opportunity to teach him the value of a dollar, too. Make him work for it, like, picking up the yard, or doing dishes or something. He doesn't havae to do it well, he just has to understand the value of the time it takes you to earn it!

that depends what it's for. you should give him an allowance instead, until he's old enough to get a job. just giving him money whenever he asks won't teach him responsibility. my parents give me $50 a month and i have to buy anything i need except food. that teaches me to be responsible with money, and not take it for granted. it also depends on how old he is.
