If You are not black you will never understand the question's that I am asking, therefore u may answer them, but u really should not. Understand that what you see on TV is not true, and only what they want to show you. The people that gave me ansers like "Pay Your Mortgage On Time" and "Don't dress like a Thug" are the real asinine ones, because they know nothing about me, or black people period. YOU CAN NEVER BE BLACK, So you may as well stop tanning, getting butt implants, dreadlocs, lip implants and the list goes on, don't get mad because I ask Questions That are true, YOU more then likely don't live in a black Neighborhood therefore you will never know or be able to answer any of my questions. For all that want to be black give it up because you will never be black, point blank that is a fact, And stop using the word Ghetto when you have no idea what it means, lol at all the idiotic answers I recieved.

I'll toast to that as I sip my glass of...orange juice, lol!

Anyway, yeah a lot of White people or people who aren't Black like to come on here and say their lame answers to a question to Black people about us. There is racism in any race yeah, but true story, most are White. But then you see people who aren't Black doing what people would say a Black person does regularly, like fighting, doing drugs, doing whatever to have a big butt, wearing our styles, like baggy jeans, tight jeans, name brand. You see everyone doing that and trying to fit an Urban life style. Not all Black people live in the ghetto and so what if there are people in the ghetto, and guess what? They all aren't Black. Not just Black people are on welfare, or poor! But if we say something like "get out the trailor park" or "go get tanned" or "Stop using meth!" Then White people want to cry and call us racist when we only are responding to the way they view us!

Good question. For that matter, why is it outrageous when a white person calls a black person the N-word but not when a black person calls another black person the N-word? If it's such a racially offensive term - which IT IS - then how come they only care when a person who's the "wrong colour" uses it? Seems kinda, I dunno, racist maybe? There are all kinds of double standards like that though. Gay people can say all sorts of things about straight people and nobody really cares. But as soon as a straight person says anything against a gay person, even if it's a valid criticism, all of a sudden they're homophobic, they're a bigot, they're a hater, etc. Or a non-religious person can say that they don't think something is right, and nobody minds, but when a Christian says the same thing, all of a sudden they're accused of being self-righteous and intolerant and judgmental. I hate double standards. Either a behaviour is right and acceptable, or it's wrong. It isn't right for one demographic and wrong for another. That's not how right and wrong work.

Why does it have to be about "wanting to be black?" I am happy with who I am - without dreads, tanning, lip implants, etc. I like my big booty - but that doesn't mean I am trying to be black, does it?
There are plenty of white people out there that have had a hard time growing up & lived in neighborhoods considered to be "ghetto." And if you think about it, doesn't the "ghetto" come from the holocaust where Jews were forced to live by the Nazis? They weren't black & they know what "ghetto" is.
It makes me sad that in this day and age, when we should be binding together as a society - regardless of race or creed - that there are people like you out there who continue to segregate themselves & point fingers at "who's to blame" and "who will never understand who" and "who's more downtrodden than who." Why can't we come together as a HUMAN race & try to further understand eachother rather than push eachother away? Let's build eachother up & learn about eachother - really, we're all the same inside. We all bleed red. We all have similar desires - to love and be loved, to have a good life, to live a dream....
If some people degrade you for asking questions - shame on them. But seriously, if you look at any question in Yahoo Answers - there are smartasses everywhere - in any topic. I don't think it needs to be a racial divide where "white people demean black people," or vice versa. More power to the HUMAN race!

What is "the black experience"? Are you black based on neighborhood, financial status, education level, or any other stereotypical crap people say? I myself choose to go to a college that will give me the best education I anyone can attain, as well as work at a job that pays my bills so I can get in the habit of handling other finalcial responsibilities later in life. ( Mortgage, car note...) I will be black till the day I die! I am sick to my stomach of people being identified based on social class, no matter what the race. There are black people who live in subburbs who are accused of "acting white" because they stay in a safe, clean neighborhood. This is too big to tackle on here. Just know that what you say isBULLSH&T!!!!

Well it depends on what "actions" you are questioning these people about. How would you like it if they started asking YOU questions about some of the things you do that white people don't do? For example a lot of us black women get relaxers so our hair can be straight, also some of us get hair weaves. Would you call us trying to be white? You just gotta look at both sides instead of one. Maybe I am reading your question wrong but it sounds like you're the one picking on them and they are just defending themselves.

***by the way those of you that are saying "you black people" need to stop because one person doesn't speak for an entire race***

I know what you are going through, even though I am white, my boyfriend is black. He goes through struggles like this and many others. I am going to pray for you because you need it! I like the color that I am but I really don't care what color my friends. I don't try to look like or be like a black person but I don't see much different between black and white!

Waite,
your saying that if a black person asks a question about me, I shouldn't answer cause I won't understand,
That makes no sense at all.

No you shouldn't even ask a question,.
Now why when a white person asks a question about a black person they cry racism?

I've never treated anyone like that,
so way are you treating me like a common racist.
Does that make you any better? prejudging

I'm not black, but I know that what you say is true. I think they demean you for asking because they don't want to own up to the truth and they try to turn it around and make you look like the bad guy. But any of the ones who do that are more than likely the uneducated rednecks that make this country trashy.

they are defensive about their race just like we are. some of them believe stereotypes because they really dont know any black people so they just assume. just like in majority black communities they believe stereotypes of other races that may not be true just because they are not very familiar with that group of people. they believe we are a certain way because of the way we are depicted on TV. which I believe is partially our fault. we take roles that white writers offer us in which we look like bafoons because the white writers think that is what is appealing to the audience. the media doesnt show us enough in positive roles and it is unfortunate. the historically black college graduations arent on TV but they show the Ivy league colleges. I dont allow my black children to watch videos because I dont want that to be the representation of us that they see. we are much bigger than that. some people will never understand.
