Sometimes people who are closest know too much information, and unknowingly hurt you by revealing too much to others. However, this is not always the case.

No. But there is a saying in politics and business that you should keep your friend close and your enemies closer. And sometime since politics and big business are dirty businesses a person might get close to you just to use you. So I guess it depends on what you do for a living. Most of us don't have these problems.

It depends on the type of relationships you have with them, sometimes Families don't see eye to eye.Perhaps its personality clash, on occasions families are Feudal and fall out with each other.

you would be surprised...I know as a female, some of my "best friends" are constantly competing with me and each other. We are there for each other and talk a hundred times a day, but when it comes down to some of them- I almost wish they didn't know so much, so they wouldn't have it to use either for their own benefit or against me....
