I am renting a fully furnished house which the owners live in for 6 months out of the year and then rent out for the other 6 months. the cabinets are full of food and wine and stuff. They never said not to touch it, so is it part of the rental or off limits? (i already drank one bottle of wine, so should i replace it)?

I'm sure they have the food there to help you get started, just in case you haven't had time to go to the grocery.

If you take it, replace it.

I used to have a rental unit in a tourist area, and we rented it out quite a bit. It is annoying to get to the house and find that stuff was stolen. Oh, nothing big, but someone would steal one part of a set of something, so the set is ruined.

I hate to have to lock up all my stuff, and then get it out, when I do go to the house.

The one thing that really got me was, I went to get in the hot tub and there is a beer can floating in the tub.

Finally, had a friend with a place, and he kept track of how the place looked before and after the renters left. If you messed up the place, or were late on the payments, just like Santa Claus, he kept a list of who was naughty and nice. If your name made the naughty list , don't plan on coming back next year. Good luck to you.

My opinion would be to use the food, and keep a list of the brand and how much you used and replace every single thing you cooked with, same brand. As for the wine, that may be a private collection so hands off. The wine you drank you should replace, and then just buy your own stash of wine. That way when the owners come back everything will be the way it was when they left. I don't think they'd expect you to starve!

I would leave it all alone and replace the bottle of wine you drank. We have a ski condo that we keep stocked for when we use it by keeping condiments, canned and dry food in the cupboards. When it is rented out, we don't mind people using our supplies, IF they replace what they use. It is understood.

it is completely provided already, and that they are additionally given $one hundred,000 funds for any adorning that that they had choose to do. Do you spot that regardless of the question, even one so straightforward as this one that a number of the ignorant trolls stupidity is so adequate they only won't be able to help yet to tutor what utter morons they're. it is only undeniable pathetic.... relatively.

Maybe you should replace the wine and just eat the food that easily gets spoiled, they won't be able to eat it anyway...but that's just my opinion.

The right thing to do would be to contact the owners and ask. Even if they say no, you'll come out looking good.

It depends. Are you planning to rent it again?

(only a low life petty thief would steal other people's property this way)
