You're absolutely right. Instead of enjoying one accomplishment people brush it off and instead are focused on the next task and moving forward again and again. I guess people are like that because they are afraid that they will end up content with the way things are. In the end you don't end up enjoying much of anything and regret it later on in life.

I'm old, very old, believe me if you don't have a reason to wake up in the morning, you will wake up on the wrong side of the grass (dead). What's the point you say, it's like a rat race, and even if you win, you are a rat (I think you're a nice person). People need something to strive for, it's the "nature of the beast," even if it is a hobby like stamp collecting, a challenge. Don't worry about it, you're not alone, all of us think of this fuzzy navel, what's the meaning of life stuff. Just smile, it will scare the crap out of your co-worker when they hear about people getting laid off, like you know they're next. Chow

Just think of the word TIME.
You have a problem with this.
You have finally took a good look at your life.
You never have enough time and you can't turn it back.
Or can you.
Think back to when you were happy when you were young.
Relive your youth and don't worry what people think.
Your problem is you think you have wasted your life.
Its never to late to make that change.
Its not ironic at all.
Its our perception of time and events in our life that is ironic.

life is exactly what you make of it.
At one stage achievement is all - then one day it all gets taken from you and you realise what you missed - actually living your life not surviving
Society frowns on those of us who move out of the "norm" but sadly in order to survive we have to work, but it doesn't mean that you cannot make the most of any time you have away from work.

avoid this...follow your bliss, seriously.
we all have a mission in life.. most don't receive it, have you seen a person totality into their jobs/careers/profession... these folks are following their bliss... be it shoe shine to top job Mr, President.
It was once said that we all know what/how our bliss is . it was clearly defined for us when we were five(5).
supportive; how many time have you heard " they were doing this since the age of five (sing, dance, sports, Official ect.)
