it is a new machine, i'm new to sewing itself, and the button i'm supposed to "press" for it to click in is not holding the feet? i have no idea how to fix it and sewing without it being held on is a pain, especially when i go to turn fabric! any help would be great appreciated!

Sometimes places like Hancock Fabrics will advertise that a sewing machine cleaning person will be onsite on a certain day. These folks are very helpful at explaining all sorts of differences with various machines.

Another option would be to take it to a sewing machine repair store and ask for help and advice. For some reason, these places are always the same as the vacuum repair shops---who knows why.

Lastly, if it's a new machine and you can't figure it out, take it back to Sears and get a new one.

I don't use Kenmore, but since it's a new machine, is the manual any help at all? Unfortunately it's Sears, so you can't go to the store to ask for a demo.

what model number of sewing machine is it? Since it's a new machine might look at the manual or call customer service and they might be able to help better.
